The Financial Aid Office guarantees that students who submit their complete financial aid information by this date will have the information processed in time to use their Pell awards to pay for Summer 2012 semester. Students who do not meet the Priority

Deadline may have to find another way to pay for classes initially and then be reimbursed by Pell.

ECOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY SCIENCE EXPLORATION CAMPJUNE 11-14

• RISING6TH-8THGRADERS• 1-3:30P.M.

The middle school Young Peoples’ Ecology and Biotechnology Exploration Camp will be for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and will consist of four half-day sessions. The camp is available at no charge to students. Activities will include learning about DNA, making cheese, isolating DNA transformation and fingerprinting, isolating DNA, and other exercises that lead to an understanding of Biotechnology. For an understanding of Ecology, students will be looking at owl pellets, cleaning oil spills with bacteria, and completing other interesting exercises.

Do you think that you might be interested in a career in the health sciences, including nursing, nursing assistant, medical assisting, or phlebotomy? If so, this camp is for you. Participants will be introduced to the various careers through demonstration, hands-on experiences, role playing, and visits to area health care facilities such as Person Memorial Hospital. HMT 210MEDICAL INSURANCE

HMT 210 is a course designed for the Healthcare Management Technology program at PCC and introduces the concepts of medical insurance. Topics include types and characteristics of third-party payers, coding concepts, payment systems, and manual/electronic claim form preparation.

HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY

The Healthcare Management Technology (HMT) degree is designed so that you can earn your medical coding certificate while completing the HMT degree. HMT is a degree also designed to prepare students for employment in healthcare business and financial operations. Students will also gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of management principles to the healthcare environment. Graduates may find employment in healthcare settings including hospitals, medical offices, clinics, long-term care facilities, and insurance companies. Graduates will also be eligible to sit for various certification exams upon completion of the degree with a combination of a minimum of two years administrative experience.

RECORDS MANAGEMENT

Is your desk being overrun by papers that need to be filed? Is your filing cabinet cluttered with papers? Do you feel overwhelmed when someone mentions “filing papers?”

If you answered “yes,” then there is a solution! OST 184, Records Management. A course in Records Management will help you eliminate the papers on your desk and the clutter in those filing cabinets. The best part is when you complete this course, there is no more feeling overwhelmed when someone mentions “filing papers.”
