Have bags in room before 7:33am.

Rooms will only be open from dismissal time until 10 min. after dismissal time.

Retesting Policy

All students have the opportunity to remediate and retake major assessments should you receive a score of 70% or less.  

Students who choose to retake assessments will be required to: Attend three (3) Period 12 Remediation sessions with

their teacher to relearn and/or practice concepts not mastered.  

Retest within the two weeks of the original assessment (after the completion of three Period 12 sessions)

Students can earn a maximum score of 70% overall for the original assessment

Senior Privilege

Senior students with an overall course average of 93% or above during the FINAL EXAM testing window may be exempt from

taking the final exam for that course.

All seniors are still required to take midterm exams

Period 12 Remediation

Students who are not in need of, or are not assigned a Period 12 on any given day have the privilege to leave at end of Period 11 (2:19pm).

Students who have a failing grade (less than 70%) in any class are required to attend at least two Period 12 remediation sessions per week with the classroom teacher until such time that s/he have mastered the specific area of difficulty, or until his/her class average is above 70%.

Failure to attend an assigned Period 12 will also be considered a class cut and the student will receive administrative disciplinary consequences. Ultimate Goal = Mastery of

Absent From School?

• 10+ days absence in a school year = medical/doctor’s note requiredIf doctor note is not received= unexcused + zeros + legal

action may be taken

Be On-Time Everyday: 7:35am

Excuses must be turned in to the Attendance Office within

3 school days upon your return from absence. • If an excuse is not received = unexcused (illegal) = disciplinary

consequences and/or zeros for work missed (+ possible truancy citation = $300 fine)

• Arrive after 9:30am (1/2 day absent)• Arrive after 11:00am (full day absent)

Late to School?

Lates to school do not cancel out at change of semester, they will count for the duration of the entire school year.

You must have A parent/doctor’s note with you in order to be considered

excused

2 full months without late penalty will result in 4 infractions erased from your record

1. Obtain Ed Trip Form from Attendance Office AT LEAST ONE WEEK before your planned trip.

1. Parent/guardian completes & student returns 5 school days BEFORE planned trip for approval.

3. Student obtains assignments from all teachers that are to be completed during time of absence.

Cost = $2.35

Clean up after yourselves.

No food or drink is to leave the cafeteria

Must have pass from a teacher if arriving late or leaving early.

Students wandering halls during lunch will be referred to the office for disciplinary action.

Use the restrooms next to the café near the gym if needed.

NO PURSES OR BACKPACKS (MUST BE KEPT IN LOCKERS)

NO sleeveless attire (including ANY & ALL tank tops )- no shirts that expose the stomach area

NO clothing with obscenities and/or drug & alcohol references

NO chains, spiked collars, or studs

You MUST store coats & jackets in locker

If asked, you must be able to show your id immediately. carry it in your wallet/clutch store it in your locker at all times.

No additional warnings will be given after today!

If you are assigned a detention you must attend----work, sports practice, etc. are NOT an excuse!!

More severe consequences will be applied if skipped.

A bus departs from MS Bus Loop at 4:05 if needed.

Financial Obligations

Students must pay for lost or misused equipment, books, laptops, iPads, uniforms, instruments, etc. following each quarter or semester.

Privileges such as clubs, dances/prom, sports, parking tags, walking in graduation and/or any other extra-curricular activities will be revoked or suspended if debts are not paid in a timely manner. AKA “Social Probation”

Parking

REMINDER: School officials are authorized to search a student’s motor vehicle parked on school property when there is reasonable suspicion that the student is violating the law. District Board Policy #226

REMINDER: Ten or more lates to school (excused or unexcused) = two-week permit suspension plus an additional week for every day a student is late during the period of suspension (see your Vehicle Registration Form).

Saucon Valley School District has a responsibility to promote respect, tolerance and acceptance and will not tolerate behaviors that infringe on the safety of any student. 

We are committed to provide a safe, positive learning climate for district students and recognize that bullying:

1. creates an atmosphere of fear and intimidation

2. detracts from the safe environment necessary for student learning

3. may lead to more serious violence

Therefore, we prohibit bullying by district students.

What is Bullying?

Bullying means an intentional electronic, written, verbal, or physical act or series of acts directed at another student or students, which occurs in the school setting and/or outside a school setting, that is severe, persistent, or pervasive. Bullying, as defined in this policy, also includes cyber-bullying.

Acts that are considered bullying would have the effect of doing any of the following: 1. Substantial interference with a student’s education. 2. Creation of a threatening environment. 3. Substantial disruption of the orderly operation of the school. . 

Students may report bullying complaints to school principals, teachers, counselors, nurses, and/or any

instructional and non-instructional staff.

SAPWhat is SAP?

Designed to assist school personnel in identifying issues that pose a barrier to learning success at school. SAP is not a treatment nor disciplinary program; rather it is a systematic process to mobilize community and school resources to get students help.

The SAP team is trained to identify risky behaviors, refer and support students and offer recommendations to assist students and parents and is available to all students.

The school bell will ring for the final time in every student’s career, and the task of translating education into living will be thrust upon you. We must equip its charges with the tools you need to defend against unexpected adversity and the bombardment of hardship that life can throw at you.
