2014 Croswell Kids Summer Performance Camp

Presenting: Once Upon a Mattress (Getting 2 Know Series)

Give your student the opportunity to work with great instructors – developing movement, acting,

and dance skills in a fun, interactive setting. The year’s campers will produce Once Upon a

Mattress, in just two weeks! They’ll learn the songs, script and movement of the show, and the

Croswell will provide a professional team of director, music director and choreographer to ensure that

everyone has a great time and learns a lot! There are no auditions for this camp, but roles will be

awarded based on skills and abilities as assessed in the first few days of camp. Kids who are just

beginners as well as those who have experience on stage will enjoy this camp!

About Once Upon a Mattress: If you thought you knew the story of “The Princess and the Pea,” you

may be in for a walloping surprise! Did you know, for instance, that Princess Winnifred actually swam

the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that it may not have been the pea at all that caused

the princess a sleepless night? Carried on a wave of songs both hilarious and raucous, and romantic

and melodic, this rollicking spin on the familiar fairy tale is full of side-splitting shenanigans!

WHO: Youth aged 5 – 15

WHEN: July 21 – August 3, with performances August 1 – 3 at the Croswell

COST: $200. Additional children from the same family are $175/each

INFO: All participants should come to camp with comfortable clothes, athletic or dance shoes, and a

water bottle. A light snack will be provided each day. If you child has specific food allergies you may

provide your own snack. Please alert directors as needed. Campers should enter through the Maumee

Street door, which will be clearly marked. Please plan to drop campers off no earlier than five

minutes before camp begins, and arrive for pick up no later than five minutes after camp ends.

5 – 7 year olds will attend camp:

July 21 – July 30 from 9am – 11:30am July 31 from 1 – 4pm August 1 from 1pm – 7:30pm

8 – 15 year olds will attend camp:

July 21 – July 30 from 1pm – 3:30pm July 31 from 1 – 4pm August 1 from 1pm – 7:30pm
