At the essence of every child is “the wonder of childhood” in which the adulthood of the child is embedded.

This wonder is known as a driving inner guide and it fights to shape the child’s personality and character step by step with a humble patience.

There are problems in child upbringing since the adult tries to shape a constrained personality without considering the precise inner mechanism in which “the wonder of childhood” is embedded.

In this book, you will find how to guide children without damaging their personality, character and ego.

In other words, you will come to understand the pedagogy of being yourself and by how this pedagogy yielded dynamic individuals such as Rumi, Dalai Lama and Abraham Lincoln based on their “wonder of childhood.”

These notes remind me the teaching period that I started long years ago and each note causes me to remind my dear students who have shining faces and they also remind me the questions they asked with their faithful hearts and pure spirits.

I want to talk with them in these lines and pages. I want them to keep asking me so I can answer them. Because they want to listen, understand and believe.

If this book serves for their religious belief only a little, I will be truly happy. I devote this book to all my students from the first to the last, for all my students, Ahmet, Mehmet, Ayşe and Fatma.

What exactly is a path a “good human being” opened by a civil disobedience against the ruler-imposed description of “good citizen”? What are the practices of civil disobedience and which practices are more effective in any given case? What is the role of the practice of disobedience in the history and what is its equivalent today?

How is the sense of civil disobedience for Turkey in particular?

“Civil Disobedience” examines the historical and intellectual resources of resisting oppression, the basic elements and socio-political framework of civil disobedience and the issue of legitimacy with ac ic meticulousness and expertise.

ŞÜKRÜ NİŞANCIIt is seen that behind the psychological problems in adulthood, there lies educational errors.

The aim of education is the wellbeing of a child. However, the education given to the child should be appropriate to the emotional development of the child.

Every child is special and each child’s emotional development is unique to that child.

The strongest part of the emotional education is the privacy education.

Since children learn how to live from their parents, how should parents give their children a sexual education appropriate to their age? Should it be given as it is done in the classical education by gathering all children together without minding the individual differences? Or should this education be one to one as it involves the most private emotions of the child?

Can children be protected from sexual abuse by telling them “Do not ever get close to anyone who wants to give you candies!” or should they develop a “Basic Reflex Response” to protect themselves from the dangers of the external world?

What are the differences between sexual education and privacy education?

In this book, Pedagogue Dr. Güneş answers these questions that are of critical concern to the emotional developments of children.

While Turkey is in the process of ending a century of oppression and while the torch of freedom is being lit in the Arab world, a global operation was set into action.

Trying to manipulate the innocent aspects of Gezi Park in Istanbul, a coup was sought to be unleashed; whereas it was only to find success in Egypt.

The book Sixty Days that Brought the World to a Standstill, as is clear by the above introduction, intends to help its reader to better understand both today and the future in the light of the events of Gezi Park by analyzing the events that transpired there and their overflow.

CEMİL ERTEM & MARKAR ESAYANThis book attemps to compare the methods used in Psychotherapy and Tasawwuf (Sufiism). More specifically, it seeks to find

the common points shared between the Western method of therapy and the Sufi method as well as where these two methods part ways. The Sufi and the Therapist attemps to do so in a convincing manner with the help of original sources.

Our idea about the universe is also a determinant for our idea about ourselves as a part of the universe. There is a huge gap between naturalist-atheist understanding which considers the universe as eternal and human-beings as existence by coincidence.

There is a huge gap between worldviews that are elicited by naturalist-atheist ideology which considers the universe as an eternal existence and living creatures and human-beings as coincidental beings, and by monotheist perception which sees the universe as a creation by God. This gap is so much important that constitutes rooted differences in perception of life, death, the purpose of life, ethics and many other essential issues. In this book, thence, it is discussed that which foundation is rational entailing difference in these most important issues of life, by means of modern science and philosophy.

Some questions that you can find answers in the book:

- What are the philosophical and theological consequences of the Big Bang Theory?

- Is evidence for design related to the law of entropy?

- Can the existence of laws of nature be explained without referring to the design phenomenon?

- What is the relationship of existence of mind and universe’s being understandable and evidence for design?

- Are infinite universes scenarios a threat to the claim that the universe and liveliness are designed?

To wake up before death!

As a need out of creation, human-being questions life, purpose of creation and after-death, tries to understand and to give meaning. He seeks answers for the questions “who I am, where did I come from and where am I going”.

In fact, which he is seeking is happiness; continuous, eternal happiness… To make the world livable, to render the life bearable is the objective. Since, as Socrates says “the unexamined life is not worth living”.

The truth of death constitutes the core of this pursuit.

If a person reckons life is composed of only this world, death confronts him and says: “Everything makes you happy and gives you pleasure is transient. Wake up and seek the real, endless happiness.

Death is the most naked warner for human-being who is gravitated by the perishable attractions of the world and move away from the main purpose.

Death is the door to the home of the real, endless happiness.

This work makes “fear of death therapy” in a sense. It shows the beautiful face of death. It represents the viewpoint of how to turn the suffering from mortal world blessings into pleasure passing through the door to eternity.

This book tells us how consumption frenzy consumes, in fact, “human-being”.

With his pleasant style Emre Dorman invites those seekers of eternal peace who are brave enough to wake up from world sleep and question their life, to face with the truth of death.

“Prayer is the essence of worship” says the prophet of Islam. As this hadith attests, through prayer a servant of the Lord both approves his servitude and also the unity of worship of the Lord. To understand the way a human being sees Him, himself and the whole universe, we could look into his prayer. Each human being is as much a servant as his prayer.

This strong relationship between the servant and the Lord, established by prayer, also has another aspect shedding light into the inner world of man. As long as he establishes a correct servant-Lord relation through prayer, the pieces of the inner world of a man would also be well placed. And this turns prayer into an opportunity to heal the wounds of our inner worlds against the questions, problems and dilemmas raised by life.

Prayer Therapy is dealing exactly with this ‘healing’ aspect of prayer. The inward, spiritual and psychological healing opportunities created by the prayer related connection between man and Lord are being explained through examples using mystical and psychological points of views.

Prayer Therapy is a must-read book for those desiring to heal their spiritual wounds through prayer.

“A praying soul is confessing his deeply rooted faith to Lord, while at the same time, acknowledging the deep trust and confidence to His almighty power. Prayer

with this respect, as well as being a manifestation of devoutness, also seems to be a pre-condition of spiritual health. In this context, the inner therapy of prayer is some kind of a key to spiritual health.”

Positive Communication in Child Education

Spouses either treat each other or send each other to therapy. Nowadays spouses do not accept each other for who they are, and therefore their marriage turns into a hurtful battleground. While they struggle to change and transform each other, a whole life goes by in staleness. Sometimes, as women become mannish, the men become passive and as the men become passive, the women become more aggressive. Sometimes however, the men become more aggressive causing women to become more desperate and this desperation leads to the child oppressed. Yet, the basic principles of happiness are “unconditional respect” and “accepting people for who they are”. Humans are humans only as long as they are allowed to be themselves, not when they are under pressure and coercion. Similarly, a healthy child is not the one whose behavior is conferred by either punishment or reward. A healthy child is the one who gained the will to refrain from a behavior because he understands that the behavior is “wrong”. Here is the book that talks about these issues. It offers insights into a positive family life that are sometimes overlooked.

Sener Akturk’s Turkey’s Identities: Religion, Language, Ethnicity, Nationality, State, and Civilization is a comparative analysis at its best of the multiple identities that Turkey includes, along with identity conflicts at every level, with examples ranging from Russia to Spain, from China to Germany. From the outset, this book aims to be “solution oriented” while always maintaining its historical and international comparative perspective.

The following are among the many questions that frame the

individual chapters and articles of this book, with tentative answers offered by the author:

- What are the origins, consequences, and limits of Turkey’s ongoing “Kurdish opening”?

- Can there be an Ottoman identity without the Greek Orthodox, the Armenians, and the Jews?

- What is a civilization?

- Is there (or was there) an Islamic civilization?

- Which civilization does present-day Turkey belong to?

- What are the origins of Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in Europe?

- Did Balkan Muslim refugees establish Turkey?

- Is Turkey, the state of the ethnic Turkmen?

- Can Islamism be the solution to Turkey’s identity crisis?

- Can Turkish identity be the common supraethnic identity of Turkey’s citizens?

ŞENER AKTÜRK

Sufi teaching relies upon a methodology, as well.

“Sufism is a state of being, not a statement, and cannot be obtained through wording” says Abdul-Qadir Gilani. This state of being is the state of perfect man (al-insan al-kamil).

Sufi tradition has raised countless “perfect men” (al-insan al-kamil) through its services throughout the centuries.

Then, by which methods did Sufism achieve this?

This book gives the answer to this question.

It also answers the questions that what characteristics does Sufi teaching have, how does Sufism mature human-being and whether Sufism shares methods current teaching systems exploit or not with a satisfying content.

The book which has an informative content about historical development of Sufism, its origin, its character and its truth, is based on an important academic research.

Surprising the modern perception, the special importance Sufis give to the women education and their development of special institutions for women is one of the remarkable sections of the book.

The mother who is smiling at every kind of noise on one day before not cannot be patient on even the voice of just a “click” today. Cause of this, all the woman who have the care of growing up their children well have an associated opinion; ‘being a mother is very difficult!’

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that you children are the “heaven scent” and “the light of our eyes”. You, have heard many times about that beautiful soul.
