JOB ANNOUNCEMENTThe USAIDs Control and Prevention of Malaria
(CAP-Malaria) project aims to strengthen country and regional level
efforts for malaria and artemisinin-resistant malaria (ARM)
containment in Cambodia, Thailand, and Burma. The objectives of the
project are to: 1) develop and scale-up cost-effective vector
control interventions to prevent the transmission of malaria; 2)
improve the quality and effectiveness of diagnosis and treatment of
malaria at the community and health facility; 3) reduce management
bottlenecks of National Malaria Control Programs; and 4) support
the establishment and maintenance of strategic information for
malaria control including strengthening surveillances and
interventions at community level. The CAP-Malaria project is
implemented by University Research Co., LLC (URC) and its partners,
which work closely with implementing partners from other funding
sources.
The CAP-Malaria is seeking potential candidates for a position
of IT Administrator to be based in Phnom Penh.
Key Responsibilities:Training1.
Ensure that all users are properly trained in the use of the
components to which they are granted access;Induct new staff on IT
systems in CAP-Malaria ofce in Phnom Penh and at elds;Lead, train
and support the work of other staff engaged in similar
functions;Develop and conduct various training and instruction for
system users on operating systems, and other applications; assist
users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
IT Equipment Management and Procurement2. Manage the IT
equipment and license software in the whole organization;Evaluate
and/or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware,
peripheral equipment, software and develop specication;Check IT
equipment to ensure that suppliers provide the right equipment
which meet the specication and ensure that software is properly
licensed and liaise with external support company;
System Administration3. Oversee network and server (if
appropriate); Manage & troubleshoot networks, internet
connectivity throughout the organization;
Provide IT support to computer users within the ofce;
Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine
possible solutions, test and implement solutions;Troubleshoot
networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct
malfunctions and other operational difculties;Anticipate
communication and networking problems and implement preventive
measures;Install, congure, and maintain personal computers, le
servers, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and
systems; adds or upgrades hardware and software and congures
router, wireless access point, disk drives, printers, and related
equipment.
Website management:4. Ensure that CAP-Malaria website (
www.capmalaria.org) works smoothly;Administer the whole CAP-Malaria
website and intranet such as all contents, user accounts, user
access permission;Update website contents for both in English and
Khmer languages;Manage all documents and contents in CAP-Malaria
intranet and instruct staff on using intranet;Work closely with
database programmer, program staff to modify any part of
CAP-Malaria website as needed.
Qualications and Requirements:Master degree in Computer Science
or equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
Over 5 years of experience working in IT support, network
troubleshooting, and database development; Excellent
troubleshooting and problem solving skills; Prociency in written
and spoken English; Demonstrate willingness to work with others in
an interactive team setting; Good interpersonal, organizational and
team building skills.
