This 21-hour course educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety,
light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
Once trained, CERT members can join their local team or simply use the skills to improve their personal level of preparedness and assist others in their
neighborhood, community or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is an orientation designed to familiarize participants with the
National Incident Management and Incident Command Systems. Executives,
Administrators and Policy Makers should find the information contained in this
briefing helpful as they develop strategies for their respective response groups
and agencies. The briefing provides a basic understanding of a number of
contemporary terms and concepts that have become part of the large scale and
complex incident management:
Incident Command System Unified Command
Multi-Agency Coordination Area Command
NIMS Requirements Disaster Declaration Process
The event is intended to provide a forum to share strategies, to coordinate
plans for emergency preparedness/response, and to discuss executive-level
issues with leaders from the agencies involved in all levels of the emergency
management structure.
Target Audience: Elected, Appointed and Special District officials along with
department heads. This training is primarily intended for those persons
responsible for establishing or implementing policy, but who are not ordinarily
part of the on-scene ICS organizations.
Expected Outcome: Executive and administrative staff, responder
chiefs/department heads and infrastructure and resource leaders sharing a
common perspective and an understanding of the challenges they will face in
times of crisis.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Learn about and use the most common Incident Command System (ICS) forms. The course will prepare you to work with the ICS forms used in the Incident Command Planning process to assist in the development of an Incident Action Plan (IAP). You will be introduced to the forms and will practice how to develop and write effective objectives to manage an expanding all-hazards incident. The course will allow you to learn and experience the benefits of using the forms in responding to emergencies or managing planned events. Target Audience: The target audience should include personnel from local agencies, including representatives from:

COURSE DESCRIPTION ‘Intermediate ICS For Expanding Incidents’ provides training and resources for personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. The course expands upon information covered in the ICS-100 and ICS-200 courses. This course is intended for individuals who may assume a supervisory role in expanding incidents or Type 3 incidents. FEMA recommends that ICS-300 participants have experience using concepts and principles from ICS 100 and 200 in a response or exercise and use their skills in an operational environment before taking ICS-400. This will provide necessary context and understanding of the skills they will develop when they take ICS-400.

AUDIENCE Personnel who require advanced application of the ICS. DESCRIPTION This course is intended to serve as a vehicle to share proven incident management strategies and practices as well as to enhance teamwork and coordination among all response agencies' officers directly responsible for emergency response to a WMD/terrorism incident or other "Incident of National Significance". The course is specifically intended for those emergency response personnel who have duties that require that they be directly involved in incident management or command at either a "field" Incident command post (ICP) or in a city, county, or regional emergency operations center (EOC).

COURSE DESCRIPTION This course examines the role of public information in all-hazards incident management and provides practical training in crisis communication techniques. In a major incident, it is imperative that community leaders, incident managers, and Public Information Officers (PIOs) are prepared to communicate with the public through traditional and social media. Participants learn about the passing of information to the public in a WMD, terrorism, or other all-hazards incident and the function of joint information operations. Participants will learn about interacting with members of the media to help you build more effective relationships and avoid common mistakes when providing information to the press and public. Participants learn how to create a crisis communication plan and develop a crisis communication team to execute it.
