Musculoskeletal problems continue

to be a burden for

patient, health care and also fo

r the community. For

the patient itself musculoskeletal

complaint can create

further problems related with pain,

disability, work-loss

and decreased quality of life. In

the bigger scope, the

growing number of people with musc

uloskeletal problems

will result in increased utilization of health care

resources and also increased hea

lth care cost. World

Health Organization reported that

hundreds of million

people have musculoskeletal proble

m and it is predicted

that the number will increase.

Due to the enormous burden of muscul

oskeletal conditions,

on November 30, 1999 WHO and United

Nations declare Bone

and Joint Decade 2000-2010 which e

ncourage government

from all nations to take necessary

actions hand in hand

with medical professional to overcom

e the growing problem

of musculoskeletal conditions.

There have been a lot of activities h

eld all over the world

during the Bone and Joint Decade 2

000-2010 to increase

awareness and understanding on mus

culoskeletal problems

including in Indonesia. During 2000-2010 Indonesian

Rheumatology Association Jakarta C

hapter routinely held

“Temu Ilmiah Reumatologi”, an annu

al scientific meeting

on musculoskeletal diseases for m

edical professional.

Although Bone and Joint Decade 200

0-2010 already pass,

we are fully understand that our w

ork is far from over.

Therefore this year we once again

will held Temu Ilmiah

Reumatologi 2016 on 25-27 March 2016 in Hotel Grand

Sahid, Jakarta. During this meeting many experts in

Rheumatology and other related fie

lds will gather and

spread their knowledge to all partic

ipants. We really hope

that this scientific meeting will c

ontribute to increase

understanding on rheumatology and musculoskeletal

diseases and furthermore increase mu

sculoskeletal health

of Indonesian people.
