This Quiet Time is a great opportunity for you to spend time together with your child. Here are some tips to help your child with their Quiet Time.

4 Gather supplies needed foractivities.

4 Sit down at a prescribedtime each day.

4 Use the Bible to look upreferences together.

4 Talk through the activity andpersonal application.

4 Complete the week bydocumenting how many days were completed and writing an encouraging note.

Quiet Time is a special time that you set aside each day to read God’s Word, to get to know Him better and to learn how He wants you to live. During this time, God speaks to you through His Holy Word, the Bible, and you speak to God through prayer. As a Christian, spending this time everyday is very important for you to grow closer to God.

The Quiet Time will help you have a special time each day with the Lord. This booklet is divided into two sections: 1) A Personal Prayer Diary where you can remind yourself to pray for people that you care about and things that are happening; and 2) Quiet Time Activities to go along with the Bible passage each day.

This Quiet Time and the Teen/Adult Quiet Time use the same Scriptures for the week. This makes it easier for your whole family to discuss the passages together.

God loves you and wants to spend time with you!

your daily Quiet time

1Psalms 51-56

PSALM 51:1-10

Now look at verse ten and write down two requests David asks God to bring about in his life:

1. “ in me a , O God.”

2. “ a within me.”

What do I need to confess to God as sin today?

What does God want to do in my life?

What words or phrases do you see in these verses that show that David was truly sorry to God for his sin? (In case you didn’t know, he had committed adultery, lied about it, and murdered a man!)

Have you ever done something wrong and then tried to cover it up? Read how David uncovered his terrible sin in our psalm today.

Do you ever keep a journal or diary where you write

down your thoughts and feelings — and then hope

nobody reads it? Well, many of the psalms in the

Bible are just that: diary entries from a shepherd-

king named David. Each psalm is a musical or

poetic prayer to God — written in all kinds of

circumstances. Do you have a little notebook

where you could write out YOUR prayers to

God? Try it!
