2016 HRadvantage/KSHHRA Kentucky Health Care Wage and Salary Survey

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Welcome to the 2016 Kentucky Health Care Wage and Salary Survey, produced by Gallagher Surveys in cooperation with the Kentucky Society of Healthcare Human Resources Associates. Survey highlights include –

Data collected by individual incumbent, as opposed to average by position. This type of submission reduces the number of errors, increases the reliability of the final results, and allows for more extensive analysis of the data.

Medical Office Practice and Home Health sections that concentrate on benchmark positions in these two growing fields.

Flexible reporting options – Organizations can submit their data either via a formatted spreadsheet questionnaire or an electronic report pulled directly from an HRIS system.

Unlimited custom cuts – All participants will have access to an on-line custom cut generator where they can make unlimited custom cuts of the data.

The complete questionnaire is contained on the spreadsheet located our website, www.gallaghersurveys.com. Please note that you do not need to login, once you are at the site click on “Surveys” then click on “2016 KSHHRA Compensation Survey” and here you will be able to download the survey questionnaire. Survey participation is very simple and consists of just three basic steps:

Complete the Organizational and Compensation Policy sections on a preformatted spreadsheet.

Populate the management and staff sections with data or generate an electronic salary report from your HRIS based on the supplied template

Email your submission to [email protected] or you can securely upload your data via our website; https://gbsviewpoints.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_509rgPMsJMYX0Gh

The 2016 survey will be compiled using individual incumbent data for both the management and staff sections. The survey results will present two sets of statistics, one based on the individual incumbent data and another based on averages by organization. In order to compile the survey this way, all participants must submit an electronic report based on the provided template. Your submission does not have to match the template exactly, just provide the relevant data in some form. We are very flexible regarding to the format of electronic salary submissions and can accept almost any electronic format as long as it contains the necessary data. Please submit data effective September 1, 2015. Do not report changes that took place after that date.

The survey deadline is December 31, 2015 We have targeted a late January distribution date. To achieve that target, we must have everyone’s cooperation in meeting this deadline. Thank you. Questions? Instructions for Participating in the 2016 KSHHRA Compensation Survey

The survey submission process is relatively simple and consists of 3 basics steps. Complete the Institution Data and Policy sections of the questionnaire To begin, open the file “2016 KSHHRA Questionnaire.xls” in Excel which is contained on our website. Once opened, save a copy to your own computer to act as a working copy. This spreadsheet file contains several worksheets:

1. Institution Data 2. Policy 3. Management Template 4. Management Positions 5. Staff Template 6. Staff Positions 7. Office Practice Positions 8. Home Health Positions 9. Sample

The first two worksheets in the questionnaire relate to your Organization’s financials and compensation policies. Please make every attempt to answer all applicable questions. This will provide for the most accurate results possible and help eliminate the “holes” in the final results caused by a lack of data. If a certain question is not applicable to your organization, please leave it blank. (No need to put “N/A” in every box). Please note that the policy section has been significantly updated this year based on feedback from the group members. Submit Individual Incumbent Salary Data The 2016 survey will be compiled using individual incumbent data for both the management and staff sections. Template – The following is the suggested template for submitting the individual incumbent management data. In order to maximize reportable results, please submit all of the required data for each incumbent.

As stated earlier, your actual submission does not have to match this format exactly as long as we receive all of the data in some electronic form. Please submit data in an ANNUAL format for each incumbent in a position matched

to the proper survey code. The positions to include along with the job codes and descriptions are located on the “Mangt Positions” worksheet. Staff Template – The following is the staff template.

Please submit HOURLY data for each incumbent in a position. The list of survey positions along with the job descriptions and survey codes are located on the “Staff Positions”, “Office Practice Positions” and “Home Health Positions” worksheet. You may report all of the positions on one worksheet or report the office practice and home health positions separately. If a position has numerous incumbents and certain pieces of data are the same for each one (ex. Salary range, shift diffs, pool rate), feel free to report that data only once instead of repeating the data numerous times. We are very flexible with regards to the format of your submissions and can accept a wide range of submission formats. As long as it is electronic and contains the necessary data, we can usually accept it.
