Froebel blocks- are a range of educational materials designed by
Friedrich Frbel.Used in Kindergarten educational range and utilized
by FLW. He states they playingwith these were directly related to
him understanding shapes and geometry.
Prairie Style Homes- works of the Prairie School architects are
usually marked byhorizontal lines, flat or hipped roofs with broad
overhangingeaves, windows groupedin horizontal bands, integration
with the landscape, solid construction, craftsmanship,and
discipline in the use of ornament. Horizontal lines were thought to
evoke andrelate to the native prairie landscape. (FLW)

Taliesin/Taliesin West-homes to FLW (Wisconsin and Arizona)
Cantilever- any rigid structural member projecting from a
vertical support, esp. onein which the projection is great in
relation to the depth, so that the upper part is in
tension and the lower part in compression
Organic architecture is a philosophy ofarchitecture which
promotes harmonybetween human habitation and the natural world
through design approaches sosympathetic and well integrated with
its site that buildings, furnishings, andsurroundings become part
