Mon 27 - Tue 28 Aug, Bramham Park For the last few years St G’s Crypt has helped with the salvage after Leeds Fest. Food and camping gear is left behind and if not collected is destroyed. All tins we salvage for the Crypt help us to provide food for 80 people everyday or is given out as food parcels to families in need. Some of the camping kit is sold in our second hand shops. If you are free for a few hours on those days, please contact Arja.

Come and join the team that makes SOT happen! We need helpers for registration, refreshments, bookstall, set up and pack down, as well as some strong people to help move tables and chairs. You will receive a free pass for all sessions along with your pack. To volunteer, please contact Kim Mason.

The Alpha course begins on 3rd October with a curry and comedy launch event, and then runs every Wednesday night until December between 7-9.15. This is a great opportunity for those within and outside of the church to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and encouraging environment. We are looking for table leaders, to facilitate discussion; and for help with set up and serving food. If you think this could be you and would like to join the exciting Alpha team then email Jon Swales.

The Leeds Jewish community is once again inviting members of St G's to go on their four day trip to holocaust sites in Poland, including a day at Auschwitz. The dates for the next visit are not finalised yet but the trip is likely to be for four days around the end of October and will cost approximately £750, full board. Seven of us went last year and we would all thoroughly recommend it. It is a valuable trip in its own right and will help to further St G's engagement with the local Jewish community. Contact David Kibble if you are interested.

St George's School of Theology 2012-13 includes a Faith Track and the first full launch of Academy of Life, a new course in practical discipleship. Jon Swales will be hosting the Faith Track group, leading discussion based on recorded and live speakers. This track will give an overview of the Christian faith and look deeper into what it means and how to live it. Mark Powley will be leading the Academy of Life. This new course focuses on seven ways we become like Jesus. It aims to grow lifelong discipleship through a mix of inspiring teaching, group reflection and practical exercises through the year.
