The employees actually went to 34 hours a week. The same story said the hospital had eight patients in September. It had eight acute-care patients that month. Wolf. • Dave Bose reported that the keys had been taken out of his heavy equipment at Sappa Park last Thursday. • Arrested Corrine Walker, 47, on Saturday, May 8, for failure to appear. Richard J. Hickert Richard Joseph Hickert, 55, a 1973 graduate of Jennings High School, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at his home near Selden from a glioblastoma brain tumor. He was born July 4, 1954, in Nor- ton, the son of Quinten Joseph and Patricia Ann (Campbell) Hickert. Hegrew up in Clayton. He attended grade school in Clayton and Jen- nings and graduated from Jennings High School. He started Hickert Welding in Clayton in 1975, and later moved his welding and mechanic shop to Selden in 1983. He began farming- in 1991. He also did construction work and was a Sheridan County Volunteer Firefighter and Storm Spotter for 20 years. He married Betty Wessel on June 9, 1978, in Selden. They lived on a farm near Clayton, then lived in Selden before moving to their farm home northwest of Selden. Survivors include his wife Betty of the home; two daughters, Jen- nifer and Scott Diers, Salina, and Danielle and Cody Young, Cheney; one grandson; two brothers, Tom Hickert, Clayton, and Tim and Dar Hickert; three sisters, Rose and Vernon Beal, Smithville, Mo.; Jean Ann and Robert Bowman, Norton, and Linette and Ernie Klaus, Hays; and a step-sister, Patty and John Gall, Norton. His parents preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday morning at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden. The Rev. bert L. Townsend, a retired Army of-ficer and World War II veteran who endowed a scholarship program for area students, will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Decatur Commu-nity High School gymnasium.
