This beautiful classic one story ranch sits on 0.47 acres with three bedrooms two bathrooms and ample room to expand. Current homeowners have recently undergone an extensive remodel. All rooms have been freshly painted. The kitchen is large and spacious, perfect for those who love to cook. New shaker style cabinet doors and drawers, beautiful flooring and custom countertops make this kitchen feel open, fresh and airy. A door off the kitchen leads directly onto the back patio, perfect for grilling and entertaining. The kitchen is truly the heart of this home. A large wood burning fire place connects the living and dining room and the original hardwood floors throughout the home create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Privacy is key with this home. It sits in the back of the neighborhood and has been beautifully landscaped creating a buffer from adjacent neighbors. The spacious back and side yard provide plenty of room for boat storage, swing sets, tree houses, pool and much more. There is a large garden newly planted for summer, compost bin, and lawn shed for additional storage needs. This home can be easily added onto, just ask the current home owner and architect for renovation plans and lot survey.

“40 years ago the peninsula was dying on the vine and Mayor Riley did a terrific job with that renaissance of downtown, and it’s West Ashley’s turn now!” - Mayor Tecklenburg. The future is looking bright for West Ashley. Don’t miss your opportunity to secure a beautiful home in the center of it all.

Find yourself in the heart of West Ashley, only 4 miles from downtown Charleston. Take the West Ashley Greenway, 8.25 miles of biking and walking trails, to your favorite resturaunts in Avonndale, grocery shopping at Harris Teeter, grab a coffee at starbucks and in the near future you will also connect to Whole Foods and the redeveloped Citadel Mall.

“West Ashley is the key to future development for the City of Charleston. As the Charleston area is projected to reach 1 million inhabitants in the next ten to fifteen years, much of that development and densification is expected to happen in the West Ashley area.” - http://www.charleston-sc.gov

Whole Foods Market will build a store along U.S. Highway 17 in a busy stretch of West Ashley, a deal that some view as a catalyst for revitalization. The chain’s second location in the Charleston region will be at the corner of Savannah Highway and Farmfield Drive, beside the long-standing Doscher’s IGA supermarket. It is expected to open in 2017.

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, who lives in West Ashley, campaigned on re-energizing that area of the city and relished the announcement Wednesday near the future store site.

“Last month, in my first State of the City address, I laid out a comprehensive vision for a newly reimagined and revitalized West Ashley — a West Ashley with stronger and more beautiful neighborhoods, better and more responsive citizen services, and a varied and vibrant retail economy. Today, I’m proud to report that we’re taking our first concrete step toward making that vision a reality,” Tecklenburg said.

“West Ashley is a great market and there is a lot of opportunity there,” said Omar Gaye, south region president for Whole Foods. “The Charleston community has been very receptive to us, there is a lot of interest in bringing local, healthy food options, and we are excited to be adding to our roster of stores in the area.”...

Whole Foods’ other Charleston-area location is about 7 miles north on Highway 17 in Patriots Plaza Shopping Center in Mount Pleasant. It opened in 2004 in a former 42,000-square-foot Bi-Lo supermarket. The West Ashley store will be slightly larger at about 45,000 square feet, the company said.

“Tecklenburg said West Ashley, with about half of the city’s population, “hasn’t gotten the attention it really deserves” and “has been overlooked by national retailers. Now it’s on their radar.”

He plans to apply the same principles of redeveloping Upper King Street in downtown Charleston to areas of West Ashley.
