CoverageProducts WarrantedThis Warranty applies to new ISC/ISL/L9/ISL G/L9N/ISLG Near Zero/C Gas Plus/L Gas Plus Engines sold byCummins Inc., hereinafter 'Cummins', and delivered tothe first user on or after January 1, 2003, that are used inautomotive on-highway applications in the United States*or Canada with three exceptions. Cummins providesdifferent Warranty Coverage for Engines used in fireapparatus truck and crash truck, bus and coach andrecreational vehicle applications.

Base Engine WarrantyThis Warranty covers any failures of the Engine whichresult, under normal use and service, from defects inmaterial or factory workmanship (Warrantable Failure).This Coverage begins with the sale of the Engine byCummins and ends two years or 250,000 miles (402,336kilometers) or 6,250 hours, whichever occurs first, afterthe date of delivery of the Engine to the first user.Engine aftertreatment components included in theCummins Critical Parts List (CPL) and marked with aCummins part number are covered under Base EngineWarranty. Additional Coverage is outlined in the EmissionWarranty section.This Warranty is made to all Owners in the chain ofdistribution and Coverage continues to allsubsequent Owners until the end of the periods ofCoverage.

Cummins ResponsibilitiesCummins will pay for all parts and labor needed to repairthe damage to the Engine resulting from a WarrantableFailure.Cummins will pay for the lubricating oil, antifreeze, filterelements, belts, hoses and other maintenance items thatare not reusable due to the Warrantable Failure.Cummins will pay for reasonable labor costs for Engineremoval and reinstallation when necessary to repair aWarrantable Failure.Cummins will pay reasonable costs for towing a vehicledisabled by a Warrantable Failure to the nearestauthorized repair station for the first year after the date ofdelivery of the Engine to the first user or the duration ofthe Warranty, whichever occurs first.In lieu of the towing expense, Cummins will payreasonable costs for mechanics to travel to and from thelocation of the vehicle, including meals, mileage andlodging, when the repair is performed at the site of thefailure.

Owner ResponsibilitiesOwner is responsible for the operation and maintenanceof the Engine as specified in the applicable CumminsOperation and Maintenance Manual and/or Owners

Manuals. Owner is also responsible for providing proofthat all recommended maintenance has been performed.Before the expiration of the applicable Warranty, Ownermust notify a Cummins distributor, authorized dealer orother repair location approved by Cummins of anyWarrantable Failure and make the Engine available forrepair by such facility. Except for Engines disabled byWarrantable Failures during the first year or the durationof the Warranty, whichever occurs first, Owner mustdeliver the Engine to the repair facility.Service locations are listed on the Cummins WorldwideService Locator at cummins.com.Owner is responsible for the cost of lubricating oil,antifreeze, filter elements and other maintenance itemsprovided during Warranty repairs unless such items arenot reusable due to the Warrantable Failure.Owner is responsible for communication expenses,meals, lodging and similar costs incurred as a result of aWarrantable Failure.Owner is responsible for non-Engine repairs and for“downtime” expenses, cargo damage, fines, all applicabletaxes, all business costs and other losses resulting from aWarrantable Failure.

LimitationsEngines with an emissions certification listed below mustbe operated using only diesel fuel having no more thanthe corresponding maximum sulfur content. Failure to usethe specified fuel as listed in the Cummins Fuel Bulletin#3379001 Table 1 (Cummins Inc. Required Diesel FuelSpecifications) can damage the Engine andaftertreatment system within a short period of time. Thisdamage could cause the Engine to become inoperableand failures attributable to the use of incorrect fuels willbe denied Warranty Coverage. Fuel specifications alsoneed to comply with local fuel regulations (EN590 forEurope and ASTM D975 for North America) for Warrantyeligibility.Maximum sulfur levels by emissions certificationlevel as listed on the Engine's dataplate are:EPA 2007/2010/2013/2017 max. 15 parts per millionEPA Tier 4 Interim / Final max. 15 parts per millionEU Stage IIIB 2011 max. 15 parts per millionEuro 4/5 max. 50 parts per millionEuro 6 max. 10 parts per million

Cummins is not responsible for failures or damageresulting from what Cummins determines to be abuse orneglect, including, but not limited to: operation withoutadequate coolants or lubricants; overfueling;overspeeding; lack of maintenance of lubricating, coolingor intake systems; improper storage, starting, warm-up,run-in or shutdown practices; unauthorized modificationsof the Engine.

Any unauthorized modifications to the aftertreatmentsystem could negatively affect emissions certification andvoid the Warranty.Cummins is also not responsible for failures caused byincorrect oil or fuel or by water, diesel exhaust fluid,catalytic reagent, dirt or other contaminants in the fuel,oil, diesel exhaust fluid, catalytic reagent or intake airsystem.Failures resulting in excessive oil consumption arecovered for the duration of the Coverage or 250,000miles (402,336 kilometers) or 6,250 hours after the dateof delivery of the Engine to the first user, whichever of thethree occurs first. Before a claim for excessive oilconsumption will be considered, Owner must submitadequate documentation to show that consumptionexceeds Cummins published standards.Failures of belts and hoses supplied by Cummins arecovered for the first year after the date of delivery of theEngine to the first user or the duration of the Warranty,whichever occurs first.Parts used to repair a Warrantable Failure may be newCummins parts, Cummins approved rebuilt parts orrepaired parts. Cummins is not responsible for failuresresulting from the use of parts not approved by Cummins.A new Cummins or Cummins approved rebuilt part usedto repair a Warrantable Failure assumes the identity ofthe part it replaced and is entitled to the remainingCoverage hereunder.Cummins Inc. reserves the right to interrogate ElectronicControl Module (ECM) data for purposes of failureanalysis.CUMMINS DOES NOT COVER WEAR OR WEAROUTOF COVERED PARTS.CUMMINS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTALOR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.THIS WARRANTY AND THE EMISSION WARRANTYSET FORTH HEREINAFTER ARE THE SOLEWARRANTIES MADE BY CUMMINS IN REGARD TOTHESE ENGINES. CUMMINS MAKES NO OTHERWARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, OR OFMERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR APARTICULAR PURPOSE.This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and youmay also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Emission WarrantyProducts WarrantedThis Emission Warranty applies to new ISC/ISL/L9/ISLG/C Gas Plus/L Gas Plus Engines marketed by Cumminsthat are used in the United States* or Canada in vehiclesdesigned for transporting persons or property on a streetor highway. This Warranty applies to Engines delivered tothe first user on or after March 1, 1998.

CoverageCummins warrants to the first user and each subsequentpurchaser that the Engine is designed, built and equippedso as to conform at the time of sale by Cummins with allU.S. federal emission regulations applicable at the time ofmanufacture and that it is free from defects in factoryworkmanship or material which would cause it not tomeet these regulations within the longer of the followingperiods: (A) Five years or 100,000 miles (160,935kilometers) of operation, whichever occurs first, asmeasured from the date of delivery of the Engine to thefirst user, or (B) The Base Engine Warranty. If the vehiclein which the Engine is installed is registered in the stateof California, a separate California Emission Warrantyalso applies.
