Donnie SuttlesDonnie Suttles enters his 10th season in professional baseball and his 6th full season with the San Francisco Giants. Currently he is serving as east coast scout covering North Carolina and South Carolina. Donnie was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1998 out of Western Carolina University. He spent five years with the Indians as a right handed pitcher. After an injury forced him to retire from playing Donnie went on to coach high school baseball at TC Roberson. After 4 years at TC he moved on to become a college coach. He spent time at Gardner Webb and Tennessee Tech Universities as a pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. As a coach Suttles has helped 21 of his players move on to play professional baseball. After leaving the college ranks Suttles spent time coaching in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization before moving over to work for the Giants. Born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina he is married to his wife Amy of 17 years. They have a son named J.T. who is 16 years old and a Daughter named Maris who is 11.

Big League Camp is a baseball and softball sports and lodging facility on Lake James, North Carolina. The property is 193 acres with water access to Lake James and the Catawba River. Our facility is fully featured with outdoor fields, indoor turf infield, batting cages, pitching mounds, fungo machine, virtual pitcher, along with the weight room, classrooms and video room. We also have 15 log cabins accommodating 6 and 8 guests each.

The purpose of Big League Camp is to provide a combination of outdoor activities with sport-specific training from college coaches, professional coaches, and Major League Baseball Scouts. The camp focuses on team interaction, team competition, and team building to foster well-rounded players that have a multitude of skills to enhance their contribution to their team.

Sports Fields

Teams will stay in log cabins with bunks. Each cabin will house 8 players and coaches. The cabins will be equipped with central heat and air and electricity. There will be bath houses equipped with restrooms, showers, and sinks. There will be an indoor training facility equipped with a turf infield, state-of-the-art simulators, b a t t i n g c a g e s , p i t c h i n g m o u n d s , w e i g h t room, store, & laundry service.

Food will be catered in to the camp and three meals a day will be provided. A general store will also provide

snacks and materials for the campers to purchase. The store will also have big league discounted sports equipment.
