Holiday Food Drive (Nov 8th - Dec 14th) We are still in need of food items for the Holi-day Food Drive. Items can be dropped off at church entrances or at the Outreach office. Items in need are: Canned yams, cranberry sauce, stuffing, dried mashed potatoes, canned fruit, canned vegetables, hominy, jello, cake mix, frosting, flour, rice, beans, and sugar. "Simbang Gabi"
The "Simbang Gabi", a devotional nine-day Novena of daily Masses during advent to usher in the birth of Jesus and to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary, will begin on Tuesday, December 16 until December 24. The daily masses are celebrated in English and start at 5:30AM. Breakfast re-ception at PAC will follow after each mass. Everyone is invited to attend and experience this nine-day devotion.

MORE THAN DISCIPLES
Each of today’s four scriptural roles—disciple, prophet, apostle, herald—forms a facet of our life in Christ as we live it day by day. Isaiah tells us that a prophet is anointed, as we were anointed at our baptism in water and the Spirit, to bring glad tidings and to promote God’s reign of healing, justice, and peace. An apostle, like Paul, is one who is “sent.” Each of us, in his or her own way, is sent by Christ to be a voice of rejoicing, to encourage prophetic voices in the world, and to make sure that the work of the Spirit thrives. John the Baptist shows us the job of the herald, making the Lord’s way straight, announcing the coming of the Light of the world. Today we also hear from Mary, model disciple. Her song, the Magnificat, shows us the world we must believe in and work for: one in which God is praised, where God’s favor is bestowed on the humble, where the hungry are filled and the rich are sent away empty, a world that continues to know and rejoice in the mercy of God that lasts for all ages. La Novena los Miércoles para Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro se cancela durante el resto del año y se reanudará con el primer miércoles Novena-Misa el próximo año el 7 de enero de 2015.

Un gran agradecimiento a todos los que participaron en la reciente recaudación de fondos Botella de Bebé. Los fon-dos se repartieron para beneficiar a la Juventud de Santa Lucía, la Sociedad de Guadalupe y la Sociedad de Juan Diego, ambos son centros de crisis de embarazo.
"Simbang Gabi"
El "Simbang Gabi", nueve días misas diarias durante el Adviento para marcar el comienzo del nacimiento de Jesús y en honor a la Santísima Virgen María, comenzará el mar-tes 16 de diciembre hasta el 24 de diciembre. Las misas diarias se celebran en inglés y comenzarán a las 5:30 AM. Recepción de Desayuno en PAC después de cada misa. Todos están invitados a asistir y disfrutar de esta devoción de nueve días.
NO habrá ADORACIÓN Y BENDICIÓN los jueves 25 de diciembre, Navidad, y el 1 de enero, Año Nuevo.

MÁS QUE DISCÍPULOS Cada uno de los cuatro roles en las Escrituras de hoy —discípulo, profeta, apóstol, testigo— forma una faceta de la vida en Cris-to que vivimos día a día. Isaías nos dice que el profeta es ungido, tal como fuimos ungidos en el Bautismo con agua y con el Espíritu, para traer la Buena Nueva y promover el Reino de Dios, un reino de salvación, justicia y paz. El apóstol, como Pablo, es un “enviado”. Cada uno de nosotros, a su manera, es enviado por Cristo a ser una voz de alegría, a animar las voces proféticas en el mundo y asegurar que prospere la obra del Espíritu. Juan Bautista nos muestra la labor del testigo, enderezando el camino del Se-ñor, anunciando la venida de la Luz del Mundo. Hoy escuchamos también a María, discípulo modelo. Su canto, el “Magnificat”, nos muestra el mundo en que debemos creer y por el cual laborar: uno en donde Dios sea alabado, donde el favor de Dios se derrama sobre los humildes, donde los hambrientos quedan repletos y los ricos se despiden vacíos, un mundo que continúa conociendo y celebrando la misericordia de Dios que perdura por todos los siglos. Wedding Anniversary Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Joseph in downtown San Jose.
The couples will be invited to renew their wedding vows and will receive a blessing from Bishop Patrick McGrath
who will preside over the celebration. A short reception will follow after.
