For 46 years now, the Annual Juried Art Exhibit has featured the work of talented artists living within 250 miles of Chagrin Falls. The name of the show and the shape of the gallery have varied slightly over the last four decades, but it’s always been a display of great art from around the region. This year, we feature artists from Lodi, Ohio to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Every time we present this exhibit, the center invites three new jurors to choose the exhibited art from hundreds of submissions. This year, Anna Arnold, Kristen Cliffel and Michael Gill selected 68 exemplary works from 57 artists. The show includes works of art in traditional mediums such as oil and watercolor as well as fiber, printmaking, ceramics and more. We are proud to announce over $1000 in prizes will be awarded to 16 artists during the Opening Reception on Friday, November 3.

Valley Art Center is where creative souls get their spark, enrich their lives and begin a lifetime of creativity
We are your community art center, right in your own neighborhood, where these true stories took place:
• A VAC teenage pottery student with developmental disabilities was so proud to be part of our Student/Faculty Exhibit that she brought 50 friends from her summer camp to see her work in our gallery. • In a Senior-to-Senior art class our talented instructor enticed a resident in a memory care facility to engage in painting, leading this resident to begin speaking to staff and neighbors for the first time in her stay. • Students from Chagrin Falls High School manufactured and sold Hope Soap in their French class to raise funds for our sculpture instructor who is starting an art school in Haiti. • A group of new mothers held their babies in a Baby and Me class as they made art for the first time.
The Vicki Welling Memorial Fund honors the life and memory of our longtime Valley Art Center student, board member, artist and friend. Vicki passed away on August 29 of this year.
To contribute, a donation can be made by phone, at VAC, or on our website, with a note that the gift is for the Vicki Welling Memorial Fund. When mailing a check to VAC, please write Vicki Welling Memorial Fund in the memo line. Thank you for continuing Vicki’s legacy.
