5 Thrilling Activities in Bali

While villas in Bali offer you a place to relax and rejuvenate, confining yourself in one – no matter how tempting it is – makes for a boring vacation. If you want to spice up your holiday in the tropical paradise of Bali, then try some of these adrenalin-pumping activities. After all, Bali is not just about frolicking on the beach and sipping piña coladas.

Diving and snorkeling – Bali offers one of the world's most beautiful dive spots. Its tropical, warm waters are perfect for a thriving community of coral reefs and marine life. Among the places to snorkel and dive is Menjangan Island, which is considered the best spot in Bali. There's also Amed where divers can also explore the wrecks of two US Navy vessels that went down during World War II.

Whitewater rafting – Ayung River takes you to 9 km of thrilling, heart-dropping whitewater rafting adventure where you can discover hidden waterfalls, take in the scenic views, and gain insight on the river's thriving ecology.

Hiking and mountain climbing - there are a number of places in Bali where hiking and mountain climbing is very enjoyable. West Bali National Park offers an easy 2-hour trail called the Tegal Blunder Trail. At one of this trail's checkpoints, you can take the more strenuous Gunung Klatakan Trail. This trail takes about 5 hours to finish, but also takes you to the heart of the lush rainforest.

On the other hand, Gunung Batur and Gunung Agung offer daring climbers a spectacular view at their summits, and as such are popular among climbing enthusiasts.

Surfing – is one of the key activities you can do in Bali. There are several places where you can learn the basics of surfing, or if you're an expert find more challenging spots to surf. One of these places is Kuta. Here, you'll find surfers mastering the waves or doing a difficult maneuver in a wave tube. There's also Nusa Dua at the southern end of the Bali. It's the perfect place for both beginners and pros, as surfing areas ranges from easy to challenging.

For the more serious surfers, Uluwatu is the ultimate destination. Though, it is very hard to get to, as you have to go on foot or rent a motorcycle and then travel about 2 miles to reach it.

Clubbing – if you're looking for some pulsating activity after the sun goes down, then Bali provides in spades. The streets of Kuta and Legian, with its seemingly endless line of bars, cafes, discotheques, and pubs, are definitely the spots to be and be seen.

Further north, near Singaraja, Lovina Beach offers its own collection of discos, pubs, and bars. The ambience here is friendlier and more relaxed than that of
