Taking the right dose of insulin is important. The lines on a syringe show you how many units of insulin you are taking. But the lines on different syringes may not mean the same thing. If you use a 30-unit, 50-unit, or 100-unit syringe, find the syringe you use in the drawings below. How many units of insulin would you be taking if you filled the size syringe you use to where the black arrow is pointing? Write that number on the dotted line below the arrow. Then show the handout to your doctor or diabetes educator.
