Additional ProductInformation
5419 tape employs aproprietary technology thatresults in extremely lowelectrostatic discharge atunwind and removal fromthe PCB. Conventionalpolyimide tapes cantypically generate over10,000 volts during usewhich can damage boardmounted electroniccomponents.
5419 tape overcomes thisproblem without any of thetypical drawbacks ofconventional "anti-static" or"static-free" tapes (e.g.variable adhesion andopaqueness). At room temperature theproperties of polyimide andpolyester film are similar.
However, as thetemperature increases ordecreases, to properties ofthe polyimide film are lessaffected than polyester.Polyimide film does notsoften at elevatedtemperatures, thus, the filmprovides an excellentrelease surface at elevatedtemperatures.
Application Techniques Best results are attainedwhen applied to a clean, dryand non dusty surfaceabove 0°C.
To improve adhesion ensurefirm and even applicationpressure is applied.
Applications Mask for printed circuitboards during wave solderor solder dip process.
Used as release surface infabrication of parts cured atelevated temperatures.
Features Advantages Benefits
