+ 1 PRESENTATION   Focuses on the form and layout of your writing

-This includes MLA format, neatness, and any graphics  Papers with good presentation:

-Have good readability and are pleasing to the eye-Should have formatting appropriate for your audience and purpose (for our purposes – MLA format at all times). This includes headings, font, page numbers, works cited, etc.-Should present graphics and visuals clearly (tables, charts, graphic organizers). Visuals should support and clarify the important information or key points in your writing-Should have no smudges, wrinkles, coffee stains, or any other marks that might occur on the way from your house to the classroom. Keep you paper safely tucked away until you turn it in.

MLA FORMAT Example of good MLA format:

Margot McNeely Mrs. Schimmeck Intermediate Composition: Block H 30 January 2010  * It is always good to have the correct MLA formant if you

want to have a great presentation.

MLA headings have to be 12pt. font size, Times New Roman font, and double spaced.

Page 4: 6 + 1 Writing Traits PRESENTATIONS

…MLA In addition to the MLA heading, you

always need to have a works cited and a header. The MLA format is always 12pt. font size and Times New Roman font.

Headers go at the top right hand corner of each page in your paper: McNeely 1, McNeely 2, McNeely 3…

There are several ways to do a works cited. Depending on the type of resource you are using, the type of works cited you will do changes.

GRAPHICS You never want to have too many

graphics.

If there are too many graphics on the page then it could distract the readers from the actual text.

If you are going to add graphics to your paper, such as Charts or Tables, always make sure to keep them organized and easy to read & understand.
