John Brown wanted to helpslaves by giving them guns to rebel against their owners. He anda group of soldiers raided a gun storagefacility in Harper’s Valley, Virginia. Other soldiers surrounded the area, but Brownrefused to surrender.
Two of John Brown's sons diedat Harpers Valley. Brown was wounded.

John Brown was put on trial and hanged for hisorganization and involvement at Harper’s Ferry.
