Transferring between terminals For transfers between terminals use the AirTrain which operates between all terminals at JFK as well as to stations that connect to the various New York railroad transportation systems (New York City Subway, Long Island Railroad). Allow between 60 and 90 minutes to transfer between terminals when connecting due to the time required to clear customs, transfer baggage (where required) and travelling time. The AirTrain operates in both directions around all terminals at JFK airport. The approximate travel time for a trip around the entire loop, including stops at all terminals, is 8 minutes. Transferring between terminals

Transport Links

New York JFK airport is located 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Manhattan.

Train services

The JFK AirTrain and the Long Island Rail Road operate train services into Manhattan. AirTrain stations are located at all terminals at JFK. The journey time between JFK airport and Penn Station in Manhattan is around 35 minutes.

Taxis

Taxis are available outside the Arrivals area at each terminal. The journey time to and from Manhattan is around 40 - 90 minutes depending on traffic.

Bus services

Bus services operate every 20 to 30 minutes to and from Grand Central Terminal at Park and 41st (East Side), and Penn Station. Buses depart and arrive at the Express bus stop at each terminal. The journey time is around 75 minutes.
