Emergency Preparedness and You

Make a PlanCommunication plan1. Designate an out-of-area contact who

everyone in your family can call in case of emergency.

2. Provide all family members with an up-to-date emergency contact list.

Evacuation plan1. Select a safe place outside of your home to

meet your family in case of an evacuation order.

2. Identify where you might need to stay if your home cannot be occupied after disaster.

3. Review your child's school or daycare policy for handling evacuation during an emergency.

4. Identify who may need special attention (children, elderly or disabled) and any special requirements, if an evacuation is necessary.

5. Be familiar with evacuation routes near your neighborhood, school or daycare, and workplace.
