As both an MPO and an RPO, GBRC works on many types of projects:traffic, public transit, parking, bike trails, land use, air quality + more.

Bridgeport will explore the feasibility of constructing a new commuter rail station on its east side, acting as a central anchor to the city's east side redevelopment opportunities totaling opportunities totaling over 700 acres.

GBRC is set to start final design on the Pequonnock River Trail in 2012.

Subsequent to public meetings, GBRC will be finalizing the design of a 4.1 mile extension of the mile extension of the Pequonnock River Trail.

The newest extension will connect the towns of Trumbull and Bridgeport from Tait Road in Trumbull to Beardsley Park in Bridgeport.

GBRC is currently updating its plan of conservation and development otherwise referred to as the Regional Comprehensive Plan (RCP).

The RCP serves as the long-term planning long-term planning framework for the Greater Bridgeport region.

It provides a broad context in which local and regional decisions can be made that move the region toward a sustainable future – a future sustainable future – a future with more choices and opportunities for all residents of the region.
