• “I don’t know what courses to register for.”
• “There aren’t any classes open.”
• “The course I need is closed.”
• “I encourage you to talk to your advisor and schedule a timely appointment. Also, review your major curriculum map and Degree Works audit.”
• “You may want to review your Degree Works audit to see what other course options you have.”
• “Does the course have a waitlist? Then you can get in line in case a seat becomes available.”
Commonly Asked Questions/Concerns
• “How do I get all my transfer and accelerated credits to count at FGCU?”
• “I think my course is not counting in the right place in my degree audit.”
• “What are progression/ milestones requirements?”
• “What does ‘limited access major’ mean?”
• Transfer courses may be evaluated for credit at FGCU. However, evaluation of a course/articulation request does not guarantee the course will be accepted. Please meet with your advisor to review your audit/credits and submit all transcripts to the Undergraduate Admissions Office, including your high school transcript. You may need to submit a syllabus for course articulation review, especially if your credits are from out-of-state.
• Milestones are the expectations that a program has for a student staying on track for a timely graduation. They are different for every major, so please see your curriculum map, student guidebooks, and major website.
• Limited access programs require a student to complete a supplemental application and they must be fully accepted into the major. Admission requirements apply and deadlines are strictly enforced.
Commonly Asked Questions/Concerns
• “What holds prevent registration at EVO?”
• “What holds will come on my account in the future?”
• “Who do I contact about holds?”
• Immunization and Accounts Receivable (AR) holds prevent registration at EVO.
• Before registering for the second semester: My Student Body, Active Shooter Training, Hazing Prevention, Final Transcripts, Required Advising Meetings
• Your advisor can help you figure out how to get your holds off, but typically the department responsible for the hold is the right place to start.
Commonly Asked Questions/Concerns
• “How many credits equals full-time status?”
• “When can I make schedule changes until?”
• “How do I pay for school?”
• “What is the difference between dropping and withdrawing from a course?”
• Full-time enrollment is 12 credits, but most programs want you taking 15 credits per semester to stay on track for timely graduation.
• Add/drop typically runs through the first week of the semester (summer is shorter). Check the Academic Calendar for official important dates for each semester.
• You can pay your tuition and other fees online through Gulfline or at the Cashier’s Office. The payment deadline is always the last day of the first week of the semester, and if you don’t pay on time, you will be cancelled from your classes.
• Add/drop takes place through the first week of the semester (summer is shorter). Courses that are dropped in this time frame do not appear on the student’s transcript, and are not subject to tuition/fees. After the add/drop deadline, withdrawals typically prevent academic penalty when done before the deadline (usually the 10th week of the semester), but the student is fee liable.
