Concepts to incorporate in the design:

• Soft organic shapes → to symbolize the human body/curves

• Gemstones and zirkonia in different, shapes, cuts and sizes → Diversity

• Solid and hollow globes → Convex shapes but yet inviting

• Solid globes with a few gemstones → freckles/beauty marks (“randomly” placed)

• Loose gemstones in “cages” in the hollow globes → You can’t control natural

beauty/uncontrollable

• Colours: Green, caramel, champagne, brown, black → Natural, earthy, colours

• Movement → To bee free

• The Good Continuation

• Texture → Fluffy/airy feeling

Design, p lacement and measurements:

1 “statement” ring →

• Consist of two types of globes: Solid- and hollow “cage” globes with 1-3 gemstones inside.

• 11 globes in total in varying size (diameter = from 0,8 cm - 2,2 cm)

• To be placed on the ring- or middle finger

• Measurements:

o Length = 5,8 cm


o Width = 3,4 cm

o Height = 2,3 cm

2 “commercial” rings →

• One solid globe with 1-3 “freckles” (champagne-zirkonia 2mm.) → measuring

approximately 1 cm/diameter on a ring measuring 1,5x5mm

• One hollow “cage” globe with 3 gemstones inside → measuring approximately 1,5

cm/diameter on a ring measuring 1,5x3mm

• To be placed on either the ring- or middle finger

• The rings may be worn individually or be combined with one another

• Consist of two types of globes: Solid- and hollow “cage” globes as in the “statement” ring.

Also flat round solids with “freckles” (champagne-zirkonia 2mm)

• Measurements:

o Length = 10,50 cm

o Width = 6,80 cm

o Hight = 3,20 cm


Ideate with Stand-Up:

• 3 different sizes

• 3 different placements

• We had our chosen design in mind while thinking bigger, wilder and more out of the box.

• A stand-up tells a story, like a priest preaching as shown in the picture on the right side. We

chose similar shapes and forms as we used in the original design, but made it more free and

not in a cage.

• In the middle is the the thought of globe ”cages” mixed with solid globes and flat round

platforms.

• On the left you can see the idea of the cage in the center and ‘random’ strings around, some in

control and some out of control.

3D models in Rhino:

We have decided to make a collection consisting of one statement ring, two commercial rings; one solid

and one globe “cage” and a broche.

The “cages” has this curvy look to symbolise the natural body with all its different shapes and sizes and

the same goes for the stones we have selected; they are all in different sizes, cuts and natural earthy

colours. We want to fill the “cages” with a few loose gemstones and let them be “free” as a symbol of

natural beauty, which is uncontrollable and unique.


In the light of texture and forms, we talked about grass, moss, leaves, mushrooms and how these

natural things feel when you touch them. We therefore wanted to create the feeling that our jewelry

are fluffy, free and comfortable. That also reflects in our decision not to add or establish our broche or

statement ring on a piece of metal, so the the globes can flow and be seen from every angle, no ‘flaws’

are hidden away, everything is in its purest form.


Printed designs:

First we printed our designs in Mojo in different sizes to decide which ones was suitable for the

placements we had chosen, but also to see if the space between the cages were too small or too big.

After choosing the right sizes we printed in castable resin and placed our jewelries on trees to be silver

casted.
