DEMONSTRATING THE LECSHARE WIZARD

EASI: Equal Access to Software and Information uses LecShare to repurpose PowerPoint presentations into Web pages to use in our Webinars

WHAT DOES LECSHARE DO?

LecShare Pro converts Microsoft PowerPoint to:• Accessible HTML• QuickTime Movies• Video Podcasts• Microsoft Word Handouts • LecShare Lite does not include audio capability

but makes accessible HTML• Demo versions are also available

FIRST CREATE A POWERPOINT

• Plan to communicate not to dazzle• Keep the layout and language simple• Use good color contrast• Use the software markup features rather

than customizing the presentation

• LecShare assumes you already have created a PowerPoint

• Start LecShare and select the option to open a PowerPoint

• LecShare imports the PowerPoint and provides a slide tray showing the accessibility features or problems with each slide

STARTING LECSHARE

SCREEN SHOT OF SLIDE TRAY

• Focus on slide 5 and in the slide objects window• Click on the Slides Title• On the Title Accessibility Editor input a title and click on ‘ok’

SCREEN SHOT REPAIRING TITLE

• Focus on slide 2 which is missing alt text for the image. Click on that in the slide object window and type text in the edit box that appears and click on ‘ok’

• When you add the ‘Alt’ attribute to an image, you can decide to save it or not into the original power point before exporting the presentation

• Before proceeding to export, save your work or the repairs will be lost

PROVIDING A TRANSCRIPTION FOR AUDIO

• In all the export options for Lecshare one of the choices is to show the speaker’s notes
