CreativeSoap MakingTRAINER: Kelly PetersJoin a fun melt-and-pour soap making workshop. No dangerous chemicals are used. This workshop will provide a demonstration of the basic soap making process and a range of techniques such as laying, embedding, marbling and making picture soaps. You will learn to make a ring from your own design, with a choice of techniques and forms of sterling silver to work with. Learn the correct way to size, saw, file, anneal, solder and polish to perfection. Techniques used include forging, cutting and overlaying. Advanced students may learn to set a gemstone. If you wish to make your own wedding ring, gold can be used by prior arrangement. A material cost of $20 is to be paid to the tutor on the day of the course. This includes sterling silver and use of tools, equipment and hardware.

Drawing with Confidence TRAINER: Augustus FirestoneThis comprehensive course will provide knowledge and understanding in: Gouache, acrylic and oils; and is best suited to people wishing to enter into the artistic field of painting. The aim is to have a completed piece at the end of the course. Participants must have a basic understanding of drawing and tone. Bring along a watercolour pad of paper, two or more canvases and a range of paint brush sizes. Students will create and take home several artworks using different materials and gain a clearer idea of which medium they might like to experiment with in the future. Materials provided for the classes will be Gouache, acrylic and oils, and a still life object.

The Art of Sewing $165

TRAINER: Vanessa StricklandLearn how to effectively repair, alter and re-design your own clothes. The benefits of sewing are many; adapt vintage and favourite garments to a unique new ‘look’, alter uniforms or make your own soft furnishings. Also during this course you will produce a skirt, cushion and alter a forgotten garment. Participants need bring their own machine. What to bring:• Design ideas: simple ideas are best to start with. Think

basic shapes and lines, circles and patterns that are easy to cut out.

• You will get so much more out of the class if you come prepared with a design idea or two.

• An apron and comfortable clothing with closed-in shoes.Screen printing can be quite messy but lots of fun!

• A hair dryer if you have one. This will help cut down on waiting times between kinks and screens drying.

CANCELLATIONSBy us: We aim to keep our courses as affordable as possible. Insufficient enrolments may mean a course is cancelled. If so, we will notify you prior to the coursecommencement date and arrange a full refund. A full refund will also be issued if the course fills before we process your paperwork.

By you: If you wish to cancel, transfer or change anenrolment, please notify us no later than 5 working days prior to your course commencement date. We will then refund, transfer or credit your course fee, less a $15 administration fee. If you withdraw from a course after this deadline, a refund will not be paid and transfers or credits will not be given.
