Welcome to the Express Publishing software. In order to usethis software you need to follow some simple steps.

This software requires activation. The activation process is a simple and shortprocedure and requires that you have access to the Internet (see Fig 1).

Once activated, the ieBook runs offline and does not require Internet access.

Activating the Software

Activation Validity

1 Type in your full nameand the serial number (as found on the firstpage of your CourseBook or on the cover ofyour CD/DVD) and clickSubmit.

There are 3 activations available for the respective software. Onceactivated for the first time, a one-year period commences, which meansthat the other two activations that are available must be used within thisone-year period. However, once activated, the validity of the software isfor life (on the respective computer/computers).

If you activate the software and during the one-year period you upgradeyour computer substantially or change your computer, then the softwaredeactivates automatically and you will need to activate again, thus usingthe second activation that is available for the respective software.

If you have used all three activations and you wish to activate the softwarea fourth time, you will need to purchase a new Course Book or CD/DVD(see Fig 3).

If you don’t use the other two activations within the one-year period, youwill require the purchase of a new Course Book or CD/DVD (see Fig 2).

If you type in an incorrect Serial Number, the application will advise youof this and you will be requested to try again (see Fig 4).

In order to activate the software you require access to the Internet. If yourFirewall is activated, deactivate it temporarily prior to commencing theactivation process of the software (see Fig 5).

If you do not have Internet access on the computer on which you wish touse the software, please follow the instructions provided in the followingsection.

If any error messages are displayed during the activation process, referto pages 3-5 of this manual.

If you do not have Internet access on the computer on which you wish touse this software, you will need to activate it on a computer that doeshave Internet access, and then transfer the activation to the originalcomputer. This can be done with the use of a USB stick.

1 Plug the USB stick intothe computer (with noInternet access) onwhich you wish toactivate the use of thissoftware.

2 Copy the file ACT fromthe CD/DVD to the USBstick and run the filefrom the USB stick.This message willappear on screen (see Fig 6).

3 You may now removethe USB stick from thecomputer and transferthe USB stick to acomputer that hasInternet access. Afterplugging in the USBstick, run the ACT filefrom the USB stickagain. You will beprompted to activatethe software (see Fig 7).

When the activation is successfully completed, you will receive thefollowing message (see Fig 8).

You may now remove the USB stick from the computer and transfer theUSB stick to the original computer on which you wanted to activate thissoftware. Plug in the USB stick and run the ACT file again. The followingmessage will be displayed (see Fig 9).

You may now place the CD/DVD in your computer and run the software.

If you try to transfer the activation to another computer (and not to theoriginal computer), the following message will be displayed (see Fig 10).

1 If you have inserted the disk in your drive and the application opensand closes automatically without showing any prompts, this meansthat you do not have the minimum requirements (see cover page forMinimum System Requirements).

2 If you provide your name and the correct serial number, but a promptappears which tells you that there is no Internet connection (and youdo have Internet connection), this means that the Internet connectionis via a proxy server and you need to change the settings to directconnection.
