When the Declaration of Independence was agreed to by the: Con- gress on the afternoon of Thursday, July 4, 1776, it was thereupon

"Ordered, That the Declaration be authenticated and printed. "That the Committee appointed to prepare the Declaration

superintend and correct the press. " Resolved, That copies of the Declaration be sent to the several
