Adventure Tourism in India
Adventure travel is a type of tourism, involving exploration or travel to remote, exotic and possibly hostile areas. Adventure tourism is rapidly growing in popularity, as tourists seek different kinds of vacations. According to the U.S. based Adventure Travel Trade Association, adventure travel may be any tourist activity, including two of the following three components: a physical activity, a cultural exchange or interaction and engagement with nature.

1: Paragliding:
Paragliding is a recreational and competitive flying sport. A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing, whose shape is formed by its suspension lines and the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing.

2. Banana Riding:
The funniest yet the most thrilling of the water sports are the Banana Boat Rides in Goa. The visitors in groups of 6 ride a boat which is shaped like a banana and attached to a motorboat. The Banana Boat after a while will flung you in the sea and you will have to ride the boat again. It is a continuous process which goes on till the entire ride. The visitors have to wear life jackets. The thrill of getting flung into the sea and again coming back to the boat is equally amazing. Quite popular amongst the young crowd, the visitors really enjoy the part when they are thrown into the sea and with much effort they have to come back to the boat.

3. Mountain Biking:
Mountain biking is a sport, which consists of riding bicycles off-road, often over rough terrain, using specially adapted mountain bikes. Mountain bikes share similarities with other bikes, but incorporate features designed to enhance durability and performance in rough terrain.
Mountain biking can generally be broken down into multiple categories: cross country, trail riding, all mountain, downhill, free ride, street riding, dirt jumping and trials. The vast majority of mountain biking falls into the recreational XC and Trail Riding categories.

4. Parachuting:
Parachuting, also known as skydiving, is the action of performing acrobatics during freefall, followed by deployment of a parachute.
Parachuting is performed as a recreational activity and a competitive sport, as well as for the deployment of military personnel airborne forces and occasionally forest firefighters.
Types of parachuting:
Accuracy landing – landing as close as possible to a target.
BASE jumping – from buildings, antennas, bridges (spans) and cliffs (earth).
Blade running – a kind of slalom with a parachute.
Big-ways – formation skydiving with many people all falling belly to earth.

canopies.

5. Parasailing:
Para sailing, also known as parascending, it is a recreational activity where a person is towed behind a vehicle (usually a boat) while attached to a parachute. The parascender has little or no control over the parachute. The activity is primarily an amusement ride, not to be confused with the sport of para gliding. In land based parasailing the parasail is towed behind a car or a snowmobile. In accuracy competitions the tow-vehicle controls the speed and height and the person flying the parasail controls the parasail sideways.
There are six parts of a parasail. The harness attaches the pilot to the parasail, which is connected to the boat, or land vehicle, by the tow rope. The activity is primarily a fun ride, not to be confused with the sport of paragliding. There are commercial parasailing operations all over the world.

6. Water Scootering:
Water scooters are high-speed water sports. The scooter accommodates two people and zooms through the water surface at great speed. Usually used by the water guards it is also a popular form of sports in Goa. The thrill of water scooter sports needn't be just restricted to the thrill of watching 'Baywatch'. You can enjoy the experience at Dona Paula jetty, Cidade de Goa, Majorda, and Candolim beach. 7. Ballooning:
A balloon is a type of aircraft that remains aloft due to its buoyancy. A balloon travels
by moving with the wind. It is distinct from an airship, which is a buoyant aircraft that
can be propelled through the air in a controlled manner.
The "basket" or capsule that is suspended by cables beneath a balloon and carries
people, animals, or automatic equipment may also be called the gondola.

2. Scuba Diving:
Scuba diving (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) is a form of underwater divingin which a diver uses a scuba set to breathe underwater for recreation, commercial or industrial reasons.
According to the purpose of the dive, a diver usually moves underwater by swimfins attached to the feet, but external propulsion can come from an underwater vehicle, or a sled pulled from the surface.

3. Snorkling:
Snorkeling is the practice of swimming on or through a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, a shaped tube called a snorkel, and usually swimfins. In cooler waters, a wetsuit may also be worn.

4. Camping:
Camping is an outdoor recreational activity. 5. Kayaking:
Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving across water. Kayaking and Canoeing are also known as Paddling. Kayaking is generally differentiated from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle.
The International Canoe Federation as a boat where the paddler faces forward, legs in front, using a double bladed paddle, defines a kayak. Almost all kayaks have closed decks, although there are many sit-on-top kayaks which are growing in popularity, as well as inflatable kayaks which come without decks but which have air chambers surrounding the boat.

6. Mountain Climbing:
Mountaineering or the sport of climbing mountains is simply one of the finest outdoor opportunities available to the lover of high places.
Mountain climbing is the sport, hobby or profession of hiking, skiing, and climbing mountains. While mountaineering began as attempts to reach the highest point of unclimbed mountains, it has branched into specializations that address different aspects of the mountain and consists of three areas: rock-craft, snow-craft and skiing, depending on whether the route chosen is over rock, snow or ice.

Mountain Rappelling:
Rappelling is the quickest and easiest way to get a taste of mountaineering. Perfect as an introductory adventure , Rappelling also has a psychological application in training programmes in encouraging trust in unfamiliar systems and protocols and following them well to acheive something that seems extremely difficult at first sight.
Rappelling in American English, is the controlled descent down a rope; climbers use this technique when a cliff or slope is too steep and/or dangerous to descend without protection. Abseiling is used chiefly in British English, as well as in Ireland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
We conduct rappelling sessions at different rappelling caves, waterfalls and cliffs near Mumbai.You are attached to a rope via a harness and some hardware that you will come to know as a karabiner and descender. The rope passes through a figure 8 descender. Instruction helps participants learn how to control the friction and slow its movement. Simply arresting the movement of the rope can control speed of descent, so that it can’t pass through the descender as fast.
