Speaker : Kathryn Cooper

Kathryn Cooper is a committed sustainability practitioner and educator. Over the last several years she has had the privilege to work with organizations like DuPont, Zero Footprint, WWF Canada, Green Enterprise Ontario and Partners in Project Green on sustainability issues. She is one of three Founding Members of the Eco-Business Zone Alliance of Ontario and President of the Sustainability Learning Centre. Prior to this she was VP of Training, Strategic Projects and Marketing at the Guelph Food Technology Centre. Kathryn is a graduate of York University with a Master of Education on Sustainability and the Environment. She holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph. In her spare time Kathryn is a member of the Environmental Advisory Committee for the Town of Erin and the Climate Change Action Group of Erin. She is also an elected member of the Upper Grand District School Board. Kathryn is President & Chief Learning Officer of the Sustainability Learning Centre. The Sustainabil-ity Learning Centre is a training, networking and technology transfer hub designed to mobilize people and technology for sustainability in industrial, commercial and institutional sectors. The Centre focuses on the development of practical “Green Core Competencies” and Whole employee engagement for eco-efficiency, eco-effectiveness and eco-restorative practices and technologies. The Centre delivers sustainability workshops to hundreds of people each year, through public and in-house programs focusing on sustainability and green business adoption

Speaker : Jean-François Menard

Jean-François Menard, InterUniversity Centre for the Life Cycle of Products, Processes and Services (CIRAIG). Jean- Francois holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal. He joined CIRAIG's start-up team in 2002. He is now Senior Analyst and has participated in numerous LCA studies in various sectors including aluminium production, waste management, municipal waste treatment, electricity distribution, road pavement and oil sands exploitation. He has extensive knowledge of the most used LCA software and has worked on the development of several LCA courses including graduate student training. Since 2002, he has provided LCA training to hundreds of participants from varied backgrounds.

The Association of Energy Engineers’ mission is to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster cooperative action in advancing the common purposes of its members and to promote activities designed to enable the industry to be conducted with the greatest economy and efficiency.
