Here, both sponsor and non-sponsor children were got together and discussed on different child issues related to health, education, sanitation and rights. Various processes had been adopted i.e. like game, quiz competition, Traditional song, Dance etc. to make the program in more participatory manner. Near about 500 hundred children were participated in Gram Panchayat level child assembly.

Farmers review on indigenous farming in AESS functional villages held at

Duruguda, Koraput on 19th May, 2017. In the review meeting around 12

Indigenous farmers from AESS functional villages along with AES project

staffs were actively participated. Mr. Saroj Kumar Mohanty from Odisha

Desi Bihan Mancha, Sambalpur and Ms. Lopamudra Behera, Program

officer of Action Aid, Bhubaneswar reviewed the progress of the program

especially on traditional farming which has been supported by Action Aid

since 2012. The farmers of AESS functional areas shared their benefits from

the support of Action aid and they also shared the causes for the loss if

any. They shared their learnings, how they utilized their knowledge

towards traditional farming, seeds preservation and conservation, seed

bank and strategy for its promotion.

The three day program on Leadership Journey-2017 was held at

Duruguda training hall with the youths who says no to child marriage

(15 no’s). The objective of the training program was to development

leadership qualities of the youths, so that they can able to create more

child leaders to work on different child related issues. This program was

jointly organized by Bakul Foundation, BBSR, UNICEF, Action aid

BBSR, Ekta , AESS , Sports and Youth Department, Govt. of Odisha.

Mrs. Sudesna Satapathy from Bakul Foundation along with Siba, Pratap

and Sarita were facilitated in the three day training program from 23rd

May to 25th 2017. In the last day of training program Ms. Alka Gupta

(Communication Specialist from UNICEF) attend along with child

reporter Mr. Ch. Santakar of Koraput, Mr. Durga Prasad Mohanty

,project director AESS, Ms. Rajashree Das, DCPO Koraput and Mr. Dilip

Mohanty from Samaj, Koraput were attend and viewed this program by

sharing their points of view.

Village level School Management Committee (SMC) meetings were organized in six villages of Kotia

Panchayat of Pottangi Block. In these meetings the members of SMC, parents, teachers, PRIs, Angan

wadi workers were discussed on regular school opening, Mid-day-meal, child rights and role and

responsibilities of SMC members towards smooth function of school activity in a regular basis.

Two days orientation program has been organized at Panchayat meeting hall of Kutuli on 14th May, 2017. In the program the PRI members and VAT members of Kutuli and Kumbhikota GPs were participated. The main objective of the training program was to orientate newly elected PRI members on their roles and responsibilities under Three-tire Panchayati Raj System and importance of village level micro plans during preparation of Gram Panchayat Development plans. This training program will help to PRIs and VAT members for prepare their village level plans by applying PRA tools especially identification of problems, resources and prepare a village level plan for convergence and resource mobilization.

Compost is one of the important components in the agriculture system. The project has been given priority for green and organic way of compost to our farmers. The farmers have been provided different trainings, orientations and exposure on compost and seed treatment in organic manner. During the convergence program with Agriculture Department we have successfully created a platform for the community people and department, where both shared their challenges, gaps, convergence plan etc. As a result the community people prepared a plan with line department for construction of compost pits. The interested farmers were applied to the department with their necessary documents. Till now 10 farmers of Mardipodi and Himarpodi villages have linked with the schemes and construed compost pits in their farm lands. The VAT members have taken lead role in this initiative.

Training to Self Help Groups members and VAT members on value addition, processing and marketing of Non-timer Forest Produces (NTFP) organized at Pichudi (15th May) and Badamanadara (23rd May) villages of Rayagada block. The objective of the training program was to provide technical support for value addition, processing and marketing of available NTFP i.e. Tamarind and hill broom etc. which help them to enhance their livelihood and economic growth. In this connection we have organized two training programs at Pichudi and Bada Manadara villages where members of SHGs and VAT were participated. During the training it has decided that the members will start seasonal business of NTFP as well as other availability produces i.e. pulses, mango, jack fruits and vegetables through their groups.

Childline 1098 project staffs had been organized outreach activities, case intervention and open house activity at Borigumma and Kotpad blocks during the reporting month. They have done Individual outreach 50 hours, Small Group outreach 268 hours and Group outreach 151 hours (Total 469 hour out of targeted 400 hours per month). During the outreach 156 phone testing has been done in the project areas. Three cases have been intervened included one child marriage and two child abuse cases. Open house activity has been

organized at Bijapur village of Borigumma on 25th May, 2017 by the childine team members. In the meeting children of the village were presented their felt issues i.e. school dropout, child marriage, drinking water, construction of school boundary, separate toilets for both boys and girls, child labour etc. The childline team members were noted down the identified issues and prepared an action plan to sort out through advocacy with allied systems. In the meeting, PRIs members, AWW, SHG members, SMC members, parents and children were participated in the program.

The Stakeholders meeting has been organized at SOVA, conference hall, Koraput on 31st May, 2017. The Childline Koraput arranged this meeting where, the members of Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Officer, official from District Education Officer, City-In-Charge of Childline India Foundation, Directors and Project Coordinators of Childline Koraput SOVA, Ekta and WORD were participated in the meeting. The objective of the meeting was to share the challenges and seek the cooperation from allied system for smooth function of childlilne activity. The Child Protection Officer and Chair- person of Child welfare Committee have given assurance to provide necessary cooperation and support to the childline team members during case intervention and production before CWC, Koraput

TARGETED INTERVENTION

HIV Sentinel Surveillance (HSS) has been core in

the tracking of HIV/AIDs epidemic under National

AIDS Control Program. HSS aims to provide accurate

and consistent information about the level and trend of HIV epidemic. In this program total 11 Targeted

Intervention Project sites have taken, Project Manager designated as site–in–charge, supported two

other staff like Counselor who helps taking consent and data collection. The Lab Technician helps to

collect blood samples through the DBS method.

In this program, 8 Regional Institutions, 130 laboratory and more than 1300 sites were involved. 250 is

the sample size. The Female Sex Worker, Men Sex with Men, Third Gender, Single Male Migrant and

Long Distance Truckers are the fuscous groups. Ekta TI Project one of the selected FSW Site. It has

started on dated 2nd May 2017 at TI Project. On 2nd MAY to 15th May, 2017, 37 NOS Blood Sample

collected by Lab Technician at Drop in Center (DIC) and two times data form sending to Regional

Institute Chennai and DBS samples has sent to Laboratory Hyderabad. On dated 14th May Mr. Rangala

Minna from Chennai Visited our site and verified the all HSS Documents.

Awareness and Business through Demonstration: On 15th & 16th May, 2017 an awareness and

business through demonstration program has been organized at Mandaguda, Machhara, Ekdeli and Mahadeiput villages of Mahdeiput Gram Panchayat of Koraput block. The objective of the program was to create awareness and business plan of clean cook stove model through the demonstration.

From 1st May to 31st May, 2017

In this reporting month the CRC project team members were involved in home based intervention, collected and updated documents, provided linkage services and individual case updated. In linkage services, the team has successfully linked with one certificate and one pension schemes. 36 individual cases were updated by the team where they met with 36 CWD families in Koraput, Semiliguda, Borigumma and Kotpad blocks.

Cardre Capacity building Training: The CCFD Project team members were participated in the 3 days training program on cardre capacity building at Bhejaput, Damonjodi from 22nd to 24th May, 2017. This training program has been organized by Women Organization of Rural Development (WORD). The objective of the training program was to build capacity of carders on different Government Schemes and Program, PRA and lobby and advocacy. 48 cardres and project staffs of coalition organizations were participated in the training program.
