Agilent Medalist i3070 08.20p Software Release
Release Notes
The Agilent Medalist i3070 08.20p software release is a complete installation that includes enhancements and improvements to software stability. In this release, we have enabled High Voltage Zener testing of up to 60V with the ASRU Revision N card. In addition, we have introduced a new power supply model, N5747A, for supporting the high power features that are available on the ASRU Revision N card and Utility pin card.
If you are upgrading from 08.00 or 08.10 software, then there is no need for any new testhead or software update licenses for this release. You will be able to access the same features with your existing basic testhead and feature licenses after the upgrade.
Software enhancements and resolution of defects are included and listed in appendix A. A software compatibility matrix is given in appendix B.

What’s New in Agilent Medalist i3070 08.20p Software Release
The Agilent Medalist i3070 08.20p software release provides the following features:
High Voltage Zener Test
The High Voltage Zener (HVZ) test uses special circuitry in the ASRU Revision N card to measure the forward bias voltage of the zener components. The zener diode voltage rating can be from 18V to 60V.
New Power Supply N5747A
A new N5747A power supply model is introduced with this software release. N5747A provides up to maximum of 750W of power and can only be used with the ASRU Revision N card (channels 3 and 4) and the Utility card (channels 7 and 8).
ControlXTP Firmware for New NEC 2M x 8-bit SRAM
The new ControlXTP firmware is by default enabled in this software release. The default file (xtp.xsvf with firmware version 10071517_1) works for both the new and old NEC SRAM ControlXTP Card. See Notes for New ControlXTP firmware.
Additional Changes
• ControlXTP Card with New SDRAM Socket
A newly designed ControlXTP Card (part number E9900- 66506) with new SDRAM socket is available. See Notes for New ControlXTP Card.
System Requirements
The minimum hardware and software requirements for the installation of the Medalist i3070 08.20p software release are as follows:

Software Licenses
The Medalist i3070 08.20p software release requires a 08.00 software update license. Users can still access the same features with their existing basic testhead and feature licenses.
Important Notes
Notes for New ControlXTP Firmware
The new ControlXTP firmware is by default enabled in the 08.20p software release. Users who upgrade their software to 08.20p will need to update all the ControlXTP firmware.
If the firmware is not updated, users will get a diagnostics failure "Test 6, Subtest 0" with the error "FPGA firmware error". (See Figure 1.)
To update the ControlXTP firmware:
1 Boot up the testhead.
2 Launch the Diagnostics application.
3 Click Configuration and then Programmable Card Config.
4 Ensure that the Expected value is 10071517_1. Then click the Update All (F1) button to program all the ControlXTP cards on the testhead. (See Figure 2.)

4 Release Notes
Notes for New ControlXTP Card
A newly designed ControlXTP card (part number E9900- 66506) is available but there is no change in functionality for existing software revisions. Customers will receive this card starting November 2010.
The new and existing ControlXTP cards (E9900- 66506 and E9900- 66504 respectively) can co- exist in the system with no changes to the firmware, which must be the 10071517_1 firmware.
The new ControlXTP card is introduced for the following reasons:
• The current SDRAM socket is obsolete and has been replaced with a new DRAM socket J3601.
• The new SDRAM socket cannot be used on existing ControlXTP cards.
• The existing PCB has been replaced with a new PCB with layout changes to accommodate the new SDRAM socket.
