Introduction

Initiative of Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board (GIDB),Government of Gujarat, in collaboration with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA)

A special purpose vehicle named as Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited(AJL) was formed

100% subsidiary of AMC All the private players were selected

through competitive bidding Named as Janmarg by CM(Narendra Modi)

Project Description

The project was undertaken in 2 phases Phase – I

From RTO – Pirana Total Distance – 12.5 km Open for Public since 14th Oct’ 09

Phase – II includes to increase the system length to 40 kms by December 2009 and to 84 kms by July 2010

4.5 km long elevated BRT was also included

Number of stations- 75 Bus Stations

Daily ridership- 1,15,000
