ALEX ARANETA CHIEF CATALYST

Mr. Alex Araneta has had extensive experience in the field of Marketing and Sales, spanning over 20 years and having handled many products in various FMCG and consumer durables companies.   Alex began his corporate career in the field of Brand Management as a Product Assistant for Hershey’s/Goya in 1987 and moved his marketing career forward with stints in companies such as Universal Robina Corporation (CFC-URC Group), the USAID and Cosmos Bottling Corporation.   In 1996, Alex expanded his work experience to include sales by leading several sales teams of various companies such as LG and APO Floors among others to success, selling a variety of products and services.   2008 ushered Alex’s transition into consulting, as he was tapped as a Consultant on Sales Management for several consumer durable companies. In 2010, Alex added corporate training in his resume as he received several certifications as a trainer for Zig Ziglar’s sales modules and Insights, UK on personality profiling. Alex is also part of the pool of speakers of People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) Industry Group and a regular columnist for The Philippine Star where his column “Successtories”, appears every Sunday at the Career Guide Section.   As the Chief Catalyst for Catalyst360 Training and Consultancy, Alex finds himself most fulfilled as he leads the team in providing solutions towards employee engagement and productivity.   Alex recently added Coaching to his profile as he received his certification as a GALLUP Strengths Coach as well as an Entrepreneurial Strengths Coach. He is also certified as a Marshall Goldsmith Executive Coach.   Alex regularly conducts training workshops on Harnessing Your Strengths, Developing High-Performance Teams, Sales and Leadership.   Alex has been happily married for 24 years now with Elaine Araneta. They are blessed with two children – Kally and Elian.

ALEX CASTILLO EXECUTIVE CONSULTANT

An experienced corporate executive, Alex Castillo has compiled a consistent record of accomplishments spanning over 30 years with major multinational consumer packaged goods companies.   Alex began his career as a Brand Assistant in Procter & Gamble Philippines in 1970. At Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company, from 1974 to 1980, he was Brand Manager, then Plant General Manager and Market Development Manager. In 1980, he joined Warner-Lambert Philippines to become Vice President, Consumer Products Division. He joined Del Monte, Philippines, Inc. in October of 1982, beginning as Market Director, Philippines. He was appointed President on June 1, 2000. His brainchild, Del Monte Kitchenomics, still exists today. In 1988, he copped the Agora Award for Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Management. Under his leadership, Del Monte copped the Award for Excellence in Marketing Management at the 1991 Management Awards held annually by the World Executive’s Digest, Asian Institute of Management and Japan Air Lines.   In 2003, under his leadership, Del Monte Philippines won the Employer of the Year Award from the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), the only company in the country to have won this award three times. Alex has served as a member of the Content Regulation Committee of the Philippine Board of Advertising, and as director of the Philippine Association of National Advertisers. He holds an AB-Economics degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, graduating with honors in 1970. He has attended many top management programs, notably the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and INSEAD’s Avira Program in Pebble Beach, California.   He is also a strategic planning consultant, an executive coach, seminar content developer and trainer for Catalyst 360, a Training and Consultancy Company. He has conducted Mission-Vision sessions for the SM Group starting with the Sy family and executives from SM Prime, SMIC, SM Development Corporation and with the Hotel and Leisure Group. Likewise, he has developed and conducted Marketing Workshops for SM Supermalls.   Alex and his wife, Lelo have been married for 39 years and have four grown children.

JAMES MICHAEL LAFFERTY CATALYST360 CONSULTANT

With a marketing and general management career that spans over a quarter of a century, James Lafferty is among the top global experts on business-building, marketing and branding particularly in emerging markets. He has had a long and successful career building businesses and organizations across five continents for some of the world’s leading fast-moving consumer goods companies.   Starting off his career as a professional athletics coach, James began his lengthy career at Procter & Gamble, where he sprinted through the ranks, becoming the Head of Marketing for North Africa, Poland and the Baltic States, as well as the first-ever General Manager for P&G’s “Near East” businesses in Israel, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and the West Bank. A true rarity in his sphere, unlike the standard consultant, James conducts multiple seminars and training events as a working CEO across the globe—enabling him to lift from real life experiences in real time. James has held seminars for some of the world’s largest corporations, including P&G, Coca Cola, British American Tobacco, HP, Newell Rubbermaid, Nestlé, Microsoft, GE, Hershey’s, Wal-Mart, Target, Intuit as well as many other global Fortune 500 companies. Not content to let his athletic passions idle, James continues to coach professionally, having coached national level athletes in his native USA as well as Germany, France, the Philippines and, most recently, as the Olympic coach for the Nigerian Marathon team in the 2012 London Olympics. James currently resides in Manila, Philippines.

JOJO HAUTEA CATALYST360 CONSULTANT

Joselito I. Hautea or Jojo began his career in 1982 at San Miguel Corporation where he gained exposure in the areas of Credit Management, Materials Management, Quality Management, Leadership Development, and Internal HR. In 1996, he joined Bayan Telecommunications as Senior Manager for Training and Organizational Development. He then joined Stream Training Consultancy, Inc. in 1999 as President. In 2001, he joined the Training and OD team of Jollibee Foods Corporation.   In 2003, he formed J.I. Hautea Management Consultancy where he is currently the Managing Consultant. RUTH COLLANTES CATALYST360 CONSULTANT

Ruth Collantes has more than 20 years of OD and training experience, 15 years of which were in the semiconductor industry in the Philippines. She spent three years as an expatriate for another multinational company holding the position of Regional Management Development and Training Manager and as Human Resource Manager on her third year, where she started up the HR systems for a country under reorganization. Her competency is on organizational development, specifically on Change Management, Performance and Talent management, Systems Design and Instructional Systems Design. Her desire to contribute to the change in the Philippines brought her home where her passion continues to inspire her work. She has since been a consultant for different companies in different industries since her return in 2004. Ruth was involved with Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television Foundation, an NGO founded by Bo Sanchez, helping the organization with its HR systems. She is also the team head for the Servants’ Resources Development Ministry (SRDM) of the Feast PICC, an OD/HR counterpart of companies, to establish the community’s OD and HR systems founded on its five core values. The Feast PICC is also a Catholic ministry established by Bo Sanchez. Currently, Ruth is engaged by two clients for her OD and HR services while also being tapped as a talent to run programs for other companies.

YUMI CALDERON CATALYST360 CONSULTANT

Yumi is a Japanese communication expert and marketing services consultant with a degree in Economics and Education. Her exposure to a multi-cultural environment with focus on Japan professionally and personally her entire life has harnessed her expertise on Service Excellence, Efficiency and Time Management, Japanese Language and Culture, Image, Cross-Culture Management, and the Art of Origami.   Yumi headed the Training division of Prudential Financial Philippine Headquarters as pioneering member while taking on responsibilities for major projects for marketing, service, recruitment, compliance, agency management, and events. She has experience in banking, retail, and publication as well. She is one of the more sought-after professional Japanese interpreter in the country, with many of her clients highly regarded in their respective field or industry.   On a lighter note, Yumi plays the flute and is a lyric soprano, having trained with the award-winning Maryknoll High School Glee Club and The Philippine Madrigal Singers. She has sang for local Indie movies, special occasions, and is a voice over talent.   Her genuine passion for training, teaching, and helping others, combined with her professional experiences and accomplishments, and the unique exposure she to Japanese marketing, service excellence and culture makes Yumi a very unique and noteworthy professional.
