VersatilePhotoshop and Illustrator are two examples of how computer technology can improve the output of today’s graphic designers.
Underpinning how innovative and different a design can be though is the inner vision of the creator. What a creator sees in their mind’s eye and their ability to make it real on a screen. It’s what drove my enthusiasm to study in and graduate from a Fine Arts background.
This illustration started life in coloured pencils. Not everything needed to be bolded. More subtle tones complement the sketchy linework.
And, with this image, by keeping that distinctive linework intact, I infused the picture with a variety of different moods and tones. Using watercolours over impermeable pen gives me the space to alter and enhance moods and tones according to the desired goal of the client.
