• Monthly – up to reference period June 2010• Published detailed country level data • Changed to quarterly release from Q3 2010

Household Travel Survey

• Traditionally- quarterly data published• 2010, 2011- annual data only published• 2012 – some quarterly data will be published as

well as annual data• Review of methodology – revise 2010, 2011 data

in 2012 release• Publish 2012 data- 20 June 2013• Publish Q 1 2013 data – July 2013

HTS methodology- domestic travel

• Domestic travel- change methodology from 2010 onwards

• Prior 2010 – results weighted to QNHS estimates – also same calibration was applied to domestic travel as for outbound travel

• Since 2010 -results weighted to agree household population estimates by household type (QNHS) only

• Outbound Travel- change in methodology from 2010 onwards

• Results weighted to agree household population estimates by household type (QNHS)

• Further weighted to frontier survey Tourism and Travel for trips , nights and expenditure- from 2010 onwards only

HTS and TTS (Tourism and Travel Survey)- main differences in results

• HTS includes travel to Northern Ireland- TTS includes overseas travel only

• HTS – travel with 1 + overnight stay• TTS – covers both same day trips and

overnight trips
