-What the Silk Road is: Important Trade Route from China
to Europe. Silk was brought to Europe.
-What the Great Wall of China was used for: Defensive
Purposes
-Class system under the Zhou (located in Zhou Dynasty)

-The significance of the North China Plain: Where ancient
China Began. Good place for a civilization because of the
Yellow River, which provides fertile soil.
-China’s Two major rivers: Yellow River and Yangtze
River
-Double Cropping: Planting two crops on the same field in
the same year.
-Physical Features of China (Lesson 1 guided notes!)
-What oracle bones are: Used to predict the future during
the Shang Dynasty
-Bronze Age: what it was and during what Dynasty: Many
tools, weapons, etc. were made out of Bronze. Much
stronger material than stone and bones. Shang Dynasty
-Golden Age: What is was and during what Dynasty: Many
achievements and advancements: better education, new
system of money, government projects, iron tools. Zhou
Dynasty
-What legalism is: Obey rulers out of fear.
-Be able to list and describe 2-3 inventions.
-What is the Great Wall of China used for today? Tourism,
Biking, hiking.
-What is the nickname of the great wall of china? Why is it
called that? “Longest Cemetery in the World” Many
people died while working on the great wall of china.
When a worker died, they threw his body into the great
wall of china and continued building it up. There are
thousands of people buried all along the Great Wall.
-Know the first emperor of China: Shi Huangdi
- What do people of China call themselves today? People of
the Han.
-Know what types of people built the great wall. (3 types)Slaves, Criminals, Farmers.
