ANGOLA: Update on SDGs mainstreaming 1 April, 28, 2016 _______________________________________________________________________ Angola participated, at the level of its Vice-President, in the UN Summit on the Post 2015 Agenda in New York, and clearly embrace the Sustainable Development Goals towards 2030. Afterwards, in December 21, 2015, the Angolan Government hosted a workshop to launch the National MDG Report 2015 and to publicly committed with the Sustainable Development Goals doing the first presentation on this regard. The UNCT in Angola, under the lead of the RC has been advancing in identifying the actions to support the Angolan Government to mainstream the SDGs into the National Development and Budget. To start with, the UNCT, under the PMG lead, has been advancing in the following: Drafting and approving a UNCT Road Map for the UNCT to mainstream of the SDGs into the UNPAF and UNCT actions in the country. Mapping the UNCT Programs/Projects/Initiatives under the UNPAF that are related with each of the 17 SDGs. Identification of the national and international sources for the 17 Goals and the 231 indicators as preparation for a dialogue with the National Institute of Statistics. Identification of the key indicators for Angola for the UN point view, as an input for the dialogue with Government and the National Institute of Statistics. A delegation of Angola conformed by representatives from the Ministry of Planning, the National Institute of Statistics, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a Civil Society Organization, is going to participate in an SDGs training for mainstreaming in a SDGs training workshop in Johannesburg now in June, 2016. This training is hosted and funded by the UNDP Regional Bureau of Africa and the UNDP CO resources. An expert will be supporting the Angolan Government under the lead of the Ministry of Planning to start the mainstreaming of the SDGs into the National Plan and National budget. This support is financed and technically coordinated by the UNDP CO. ANGOLA: Update on SDGs mainstreaming1 April, 28, 2016

Angola participated, at the level of its Vice-President, in the UN Summit on the Post 2015

Agenda in New York, and clearly embrace the Sustainable Development Goals towards 2030.

Afterwards, in December 21, 2015, the Angolan Government hosted a workshop to launch the

The UNCT in Angola, under the lead of the RC has been advancing in identifying the actions to

diverse governmental ministries and different development national and international partners

will be conducted. Also workshops for advocacy and awareness will take place.
