Since2011,wehavesuccessfullysupported87 (67+20)students fromHanoi,SaigonandCantho.Thissummer2017,thenumberofstudentswhowillgraduatewillbe40(20+5+6+8+1).Most–ifnotall–ofthemhavefoundajob;somewillpursuearesearchercareeroutsideofVietnam.NguyenThanhCongillustratesthislattercase:histenaciouseffortsgrantedhimaPhDfellowshipinShiga,Japan,despiteanunsuccessfulattempttointegratetheUniversityofLausanne.Thetabledoesnotmention2studentsdroppingout,1inCanthoand1inHanoi,atanearlystageoftheirstudies,forreasonsthataremostlikelyindependentofourassociation.Dearsponsors,deardonors,Dearfriends,Financially,wehavespentCHF91'236,whichmeansapproximatelyCHF1'050perstudent,orCHF2'280pergraduatestudent.Theseamountsseemextremelymodestcomparedtothetuitionfeesofasinglemedstudent in Switzerlandwhich averages thousands of CHF. This paradoxically emphasizes the economicefficiencyofourmodel.However,financesdonotdriveouractions;whatdoareouridealism,oursocialcommitment,ouraffinityforVietnamanditsyounggenerations.WhatcouldYou will find in the appendices some pictures which reminds us that “PANTA RHEI”.With friendship,respectandgratitude.

1) Thecommitteeandpresidencyhavecompletedtwoelectionrounds.Theideaistorenewbothformore freshness and performance. Positions are open, though we encourage the runningcommitteetocontinuetheirterm,exceptforthepresident.The School ofMedicine (SoM) in Saigon–withwhomwehave aMOU–would like to involveHelvietmedmembersas«VisitingScholars».Weencouragewhoeverisinterestedtopartakeintheprogram.

senttothepublisher(LWW)toaskfortheconditionstodoso.Translatingthisbook–whosecontentisstable–wouldenableHelvietmedtowidenitsactivitiesandestablishitsreputationinVietnam.TheSoMisinterestedinparticipatingwithateamof5-6physicians.SomestudentswhoareateasewithEnglishhavealsoexpressedtheirinterest.

Financialreport2016Similarly to the previous years, Helvietmed’s activitieswere carried outwith the support of Helvietmedmembers,sponsorsanddonors.IncomehasincreasedthankstothenewcontributionsoftheFondationAdelmanpourl’EducationandtheSoroptimistInternationalClubinBern.Expenditure,inconformitywiththespiritofHelvietmed,servedhumanitarianactivitiesonly.Operatingcostswuch as postal charges, trips to Vietnam, office fees, were handled on a private basis by Helvietmedmembers.Similarlytothepreviousyears,Helvietmedverifiesthatexpenditureisinaccordancewiththerulesandtherealizedactivities.Rulingoutthespecialexpensesof2015(purchaseofstethoscopes),theamount–similarto2015–hasenabledtheawardofmorescholarships(67scholarshipsin2016vs49in2015). 2.Thuận lợi trong quá trình học tập • Nhận được sự quan tâm giúp đỡ tận tình của các thầy cô trong quá

trình học tập cũng như các hoạt động ngoại khóa của khoa. • Được hộc tập trong môi trường tốt với đội ngũ thầy cô có trình độ

3.Khó khăn

• Trình độ tiếng anh còn kém nên việc tiếp xúc với tài liệu nước ngoài còn hạn chế.

• Gặp khó khăn trong việc giao tiếp tiếng anh. • Trong quá trình học các môn lâm sàng tại các bệnh viện còn gặp nhiều

khó khăn như thiếu giáo viên, giảng đường.

4.Vai trò của Helvietmed

• Học bổng đã giúp em rất nhiều trong việc trang trải học phí cũng như mua sắm sách vở, các thiết bị cần thiết trong quá trình học tập.

• Tham gia vào học bổng Helvietmed còn giúp em có cơ hội được tiếp xúc với các anh chị khóa trên để học hỏi kinh nghiệm học tập.

• Học bổng cũng giúp em có thêm động lực để học tập tốt hơn.

5. Kiến nghị

• Do trình độ Tiếng anh còn hạn chế nên em mong thầy cô sớm mở câu lạc bộ tiếng anh giúp em có cơ hội thực hành và tích lũy kiến thức, cải thiện trình độ tiếng anh của bản thân

• Trong quá trình học tập cần có giáo cụ trực quan và quá trình thực hành giúp chúng em dễ hình dung và dễ hiểu hơn, tuy nhiên do điều kiện còn hạn chế nên số lượng mô hình và số buổi thực hành còn ít nên em mong thầy cô có thể tăng số buổi thực hành giúp chúng em nắm bài tốt hơn.

• Trong quá trình đi học lâm sàng tại các bệnh viện, do còn thiếu giáo viên nên việc học tập còn gặp nhiều khó khăn nên em mong thầy cô có thể giúp đỡ để chúng em có thể học tập tốt hơn.

Lại một năm nữa trôi qua, chúng em hiện tại đã bước tới năm thứ 5 trên con đường học tập để trở thành những bác sỹ tương lai. Năm vừa qua là một năm dài! Nó thực sự dài vì em trải qua một năm lâm sàng thực sự, với sự tiếp nối của Nội – Ngoại – Sản – Nhi, bốn bộ môn nền tảng xương sống chính của Y học. Có thể nói, đây cũng là năm để lại trong em nhiều kỷ niệm với bệnh nhân nhất. Vẫn Nội - Ngoại như năm thứ ba nhưng em hiểu rõ sức nặng hơn nữa của những từ ngữ khi ghi vào bệnh án, sự cần thiết phải thận trọng, dè dặt khi sử dụng thuốc của bác sỹ. Chúng em được tham gia nhiều hơn vào công việc thường ngày của các bác sỹ, vui vì bắt đầu được thực tập công việc trong tương lai, tuy nhiên lại lo lắng hơn vì hiểu được áp lực công việc của một bác sỹ là như thế nào. Hết học kỳ một, em được tiếp xúc với hai bộ môn mới là Sản và Nhi. Bộ môn Sản khiến em choáng ngập với sự khó khăn và nhiều tiềm ẩn bất trắc của sản phụ, từ khi mang thai tới khi vượt cạn. Nó khiến em thêm yêu quý những người mẹ, vượt mọi đau đớn, hi sinh cho đứa con của mình và càng hi vọng về nền y học phát triển giúp họ có nhiều biện pháp giảm thiểu đau đớn và thủ thuật giúp hạn chế tổn thương, biến chứng. Thêm vào đó, bộ môn Sản cũng dạy em biết cách chăm sóc các em bé sơ sinh đáng yêu và sự hạnh phúc khi sinh bé ra, nhìn bé ngủ, cho bé ăn của các bà mẹ. Tiếp nối với Sản là bộ môn Nhi, một bộ môn thực sự khó khăn. Cấu trúc trẻ em và người lớn có nhiều sự khác biệt và em phải làm quen với nó. Nhưng đứa trẻ, chúng bé nhỏ và cần được sự che chở, giúp đỡ của bác sỹ, giúp chúng chống lại tác nhân gây bệnh và phát triển. Em cảm nhận được ngành y tuy là khó khăn đấy nhưng thực sự mang lại lợi ích to lớn cho xã hội. Em thật sự xúc động khi có bệnh nhân nhi, sau điều trị quay lại viện vì tình trạng nặng trở lại vẫn nhớ em và hỏi sự tư vấn của em – dù chỉ là một sinh viên thực tập. Em xúc động khi có những bé bệnh nhi cứ nằng nẵng đòi em bế mỗi lần em đi hỏi bệnh buổi sáng. Nó thật sự là một động lực to lớn thúc đẩy em học tập cố gắng hơn nữa để có thể cứu chữa bệnh nhân, giúp họ có được sức khoẻ tốt hơn, đền đáp cho sự ủng hộ, giúp đỡ từ những ân nhân – bệnh nhân đó.

Năm vừa qua em cũng có một trải nghiệm mới. Đó là tham gia vào chường trình Trao đổi sinh viên với Đại học Mahidol – Thái Lan, trường đại học có Khoa Y học danh giá nhất Thái Lan và tầm cỡ trong Đông Nam Á. Được học tập tại bệnh viện Siriraj trong vòng bốn tuần về bộ môn Tai Mũi Họng đã khiến em hiểu thêm về Y học ở Thái Lan cũng như bộ môn Tai Mũi Họng. Đặc biệt hiểu thêm về văn hoá trong bệnh viện tại đất nước Thái Lan khiến em vừa ấn tượng và vừa tự nhắc nhở mình cần học tập, trau dồi thêm để ngoài chuyên môn, cần có y đức. Nền Y học nước bạn cũng thực sự khiến em nhắc nhở bản thân học tập thật tốt để có thể phát triển đất nước mình sau cho càng ngày càng phát triển hơn nữa, mang lại lợi ích cho người bệnh, khiến họ được điều trị theo hướng tốt nhất.

Năm tới này chúng em sẽ được học tập rất nhiều chuyên khoa lẻ, khiến em vô cùng thích thú. Tuy nhiên đi kèm với nó là kinh phí học tập cũng tăng lên nhiều theo số môn học. Em thật sự cảm ơn quỹ học bổng Helvietmed luôn bên cạnh và hỗ trợ chúng em, để chúng em có những điều kiện tốt nhất về học tập, không bỏ lỡ ước mơ khi nó đã gần hơn với chúng em. Hơn nữa, năm nay em hi vọng tổ chức sẽ mở rộng thêm việc trao đổi chuyên môn trên Forum giữa các sinh viên Y đa khoa với nhau, giúp chúng em có thể hỗ trợ nhau trong quá trình học tập, giữa các sinh viên Việt Nam, sinh viên Quốc tế và bác sỹ chuyên khoa từ quỹ Học bổng Helvietmed, nhất là trong chuyên ngành Tai Mũi Họng.

Dear Helvietmed Organization,

Another year passed, now I'm in the 5th year on the way to becoming a future doctor. In fact, the last year was a long year! It was a year for real clinical, spent all time for Internal medicine - Surgery - Obstetrics - Pediatric, the four departments which're platform of Medicine. Additionally, it had so many memories with patients. Studying Internal Medicine and Surgery as a third year but I understand more the pressure of the every single word to be effected, the necesary to be vigilant, cautious when using drugs for patients. We involved in the daily work of doctors, not only happy as the trust to practising for the future jobs, but also worry about how is the pressure. End of th first semester, I studied two new subjects: Obstetric and Pediatric. Obstetrics make me understand the lassitude, the risk of pregnancy process for the women and her children. It makes me empathy to mothers, beyond all the pain, sacrifice for her child and as I hope the medicine will be development to reduce the pain, damage. Addictionally, Obstetrics also teach me how to take care of adorable newborn baby and the happy of the parents ưhen they looking at your baby sleeping, feeding. Moving on pediatrics department, it's a difficult subject. I have to get acquainted the difference between the structure of children and adults. All children are tiny so they need to be protected and helped to against pathogens for growing up. I realized although the community health care is difficult, it really brings a huge benefits to society. I'm amazed when a mother of pediatric patient found me and asked me for advices when they came back hospital. I happy every morning when I examined patients, a lot of pediatric patients want me huge and pick them. It is a great motivation which promotes me that try harder to cure more and more patients, help them get better health, rewarded for the supports from benefactors - patients.

Last year I also had a new experience. I took part in the student exchange programs with Mahidol University - Thailand, Faculty of Medicine has the most famous and prestigious in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Studying at Siriraj hospital within four weeks of the Otolaryngology Department, It made me impressive about medicine in Thailand, specially in Otolaryngology, more understand about the culture in

hospitals. I remind myself that we arenot only study, but also it's important to have morality. Addtionally, Thais Medical makes me understand that I had to try my best to develop my country for benefits of ptients, causing them to be treated by best regimen.

This year we will learning a lot of special Department, it makes me extremely excited. However, it is accompanied by increased cost which's corresponding with the number of courses. I really thank Helvietmed scholarship fund who always stand by me and support me to have the best conditions for learning, don't let me miss the dream when it's closer and closer to us. For this year, I hope the Helvietmed organization will expand the exchange of the specialized knowledge on the Forum between the general medical students, international students and profesor especially in ENT to support together.
