One weekend in october of 2012 I travelled to Bern, the capital of Switzerland. There I visited one of my best friends, Lisa Hoppe, a talented musician (http://elisabethhoppe.de/).My name is Insa Wulf and at the following pages I want to show you what I have seen, I want to tell you what I experienced, give you an impression of the atmosphere.Maybe you find some inspiration, maybe you fall in love with some beautiful landscape. Most of all I want to encourage you to travel and explore new places. And until then: feel the different moods in this little book.

The Bern agglomeration, which includes 43 municipalities,has a population of 353,300. The metropolitan area had a population of 660,000 in 2000.Bern is also the capital of the Canton of Bern, the second most populous of Switzerland‘s cantons.

The official language of Bern is German, but the main spoken language is the Alemannic dialect called Bernese German.

In 1983 the historic old town in the centre of Bern became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Bern is ranked among the world’s top ten cities for the best quality of life (2010).“ source: Wikipedia

Bern sleeps. And everybody enjoys its beauty. Pretty, fine houses connected by the arcaded sidewalks, that‘s Bern. The sun of autumn and the colours of the leaves bring the easy style of this city out much more. The area of the city makes it feel like it should be a big city with lots of people, but if you wait some hours you‘ll see very soon that most of the people going around are tourists that admire the corporate style. In the late hours of the day there is barely anyone left on the streets. Everybody is gone. The city sleeps completely now. Also it feels like all the old houses in the historic centre are mother ships parked by alien in the middle of the beautiful landscape of Switzerland nearby the crystal clear Aare. Please dear aliens, don‘t come back too soon to take away your ships! I want to come back visit my friend again some time soon and enjoy this city one more time!
