A vase of thismodel is in the V&A collection,museum number: C.43-1969.The V&A example is the samevase in a different colourway bythe company (Samuel Alcock &Co) that preceded this company(Hill Pottery Co) and whichceased trading in 1859. Theexample offered here dates from1861-1867, when the Hill PotteryCo ceased trading. The potterybuilding was on the site of theoriginal Ralph Wood pottery, andwas rebuilt in 1839 by SamuelAlcock & Co to become thebiggest and most impressivepottery building in Burslem.
