In the interest of safety and as part of ou r commitment to risk management, the following rules, regulationsand conditions govern entry to the show grounds:1. The Pegasus Pony Club Inc will not be liable or held responsible for any loss , damage or injury to horse,person, vehicles or equipment whilst on the grounds.2. Competitors who are no t financial members of PCASA or the EA will need to pay a $10 Day

Attendance. PCASA & EA members will need to present their cards on the day to compete.3. Appropriate footwear must be worn whilst riding or whilst leading a rider.4. Protective headgear (ANZS3838).5. Competitors riding faster than a walk outside of competitionlwarmup rings will be asked to leave.6. At the discretion of the judge, stewards have the right to remove from the rings any horse, rider or handler thatdoes not comply with the rules, constitutes a hazard, or behaves in an unruly manner.7. Pegasus Pony Club reserves the right to alter or cancel any event on the program, or combine any event.8. The judge's decision on the day will be final.9. Ages of the riders are on the day of the competition .10. All Pleasure classes are to be ridden in a snaffle.11 . All pony/riding club events are for pony club financial members in full uniform with membership card to beproduced on request.12. All protests must be lodged within 15 minutes of completion of the event together with a $50.00 protest fee (tobe returned if protest upheld). The decision of the protest coordinating committee will be final.13. Programs are correct at the time of publication, and are subject to change without notice.14 . Stallions ineligible.15. MAIDEN: A horse/pony/rider who has not won a first prize in an individual hack/rider class at any show orgymkhana.16 . NOVICE: A horse/pony/rider who has not won a first prize in an individual open hack/rider class at anyAgricultural/Affiliated show or gymkhana.17 . INTERMEDIATE: A horse/pony/rider who has not been placed first to sixth in an individual hack/rider class ata Royal Show.18 . NOVELTIES: Run at the conclusion of hack events, when included in program.19. ENCOURAGE RING: Any horse having won a Hack Championship or rider having won a RiderChampionship within 12 months of this show is not eligible to compete in those respective events.20. Dogs must be kept under control on a leash at all times .21 . There is to be no lunging of horses on the grounds whatsoever.22. Only vehicles with floats attached will be permitted to park on the grounds.23. Spectators should not congregate around entrances to rings, particularly if they have children, prams or dogs .

The following rules apply to leading rein classes, led riders and handlers:1. Handler is to lead the rider from the near side of the pony/mount.2. Handler is to remain as close as possible to the girth, level with the rider & ready to assist if needed .3. Handler will hold the lead in the left hand, leaving right hand free to be of most value , a safety net to the rider.4. Leads must be attached to the noseband or halter, NOT to the bit.5. No chains allowed.6. Handlers must wear suitable footwear.7. 'Monkey' or neck straps are encouraged.8. If a horse is not deemed under the control of a competent handler, the handler will be asked to remove therider from the mount and then leave the ring with the mount at a safe distance from the rider.

Symptoms of Ross River Virus in Horses stiffness and soreness sore joints with possible swelling sore muscles with possible swelling a cough they could have just a temperature, and they usually have atemperature with Ross River Virus. They can get a hightemperature that dramatically waxes and wanes for no particularreason. It could rise for an hour then go back to normal. It couldthen stay normal for half a day, then rise again and go back tonormal after an hour Oust as an example). During the episode of ahigh temperature the horse would be pretty unwell but when that

episode was over the horse could appear completely normal. They could also display the normal signs associated with a hightemperature, and a high temperature doesn't have to be that high,say in the high 39C to well up into the 40C range respiratory signs gut signs such as being off their feed, colicky, diarrhoea lethargy founder, or show signs of lameness (though this would beassociated with the high temperature as it is a consequence andnot a direct cause) nervous signs, such as that the horse is so wobbly that it can'ttake a step forwards, or alternatively takes a step forward but thentakes 2 steps backwards, or staggers backwards and almost flipsover then re-balances.*Signs are really non-specific, they usually don't specifically getpneumonia, a gut disease, or a liver problem for examples. But theycan get any of the above, singly or in any combination.
