RING 1

TOPSY RING – 9.00AM START

(ON LEAD ROPE/RIDING WITH ASSISTANCE – NO CANTER)

For Beginner Riders – on lead rope or riding with assistance. If able to ride confidently and capably without parent in the ring at all then please compete in the junior ring. Snaffle bit only.

Neat casual dress, school, pony club or adult riders’ uniform all acceptable. Riding boots, medical armbands and helmets are compulsory. Snaffle bit only. Riders showing experience beyond the goals of this ring may be invited to join another ring at the judge’s discretion.

FANCY DRESS – 12.30PM START

FANCY DRESS WILL BE HELD AT 12.30 SHARP. Every effort will be made to have rings 1 - 4 finished by 12.00. However, competitor numbers are difficult to predict. If any ring is still in progress at 12.30 competitors will have to choose between staying in their ring or going to fancy dress.

NB: PCV approved helmet; medical armbands and boots must be worn in fancy dress.

For those who seldom attend shows, gymkhanas etc. that can ride unassisted. No Cantering required. Snaffle bit only.

Neat casual dress, school or pony club uniform all acceptable. Riding boots, medical armbands and helmets are compulsory. Riders showing experience beyond the goals of this ring may be invited to join another ring at the judge’s discretion

FRESHMAN’S SHOW JUMPING 12.00 pm START

Riders must be riding off lead rope and able to jump without assistance

$3.00 per round, limit of 2 rounds per height and maximum 5 rounds per horse Ribbons will be given for clear rounds

Freshman’s Height 35cm – 12.00pm to 1.00pm

Freshman’s Height 45cm – 1.00pm – 2.00pm

Freshman’s Height 60cm – 2.00pm – 3.00pm

Freshman’s Height 75cm – 3.00pm to 4.00pm

Freshman’s Height 90cm – 4.00pm to 5.00pm

Times may vary slightly depending on numbers & round limits

RING 7

HANDY MOUNT – 12.30PM START

$3.00 per round, limit of 2 rounds per rider

Ribbons will be given for clear rounds

*This discipline is designed to test a rider’s horsemanship skills and the willingness of the horse or pony. It is not a race; the focus is on how the rider completes the tasks.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:

All conditions must be adhered to for us to comply with our insurance requirements. Please read all rules, failure to comply could result in you or your child not being able to compete. Conditions of Entry:-

Entering this competition constitutes acknowledgement that PCAV rules apply and acceptance of these rules.

Neither the Organizing Committee of this event nor the PCAV accepts any responsibility whatsoever for any accident, damage, injury or illness to horses, riders, ground spectators or any other person or property.

Reservation of Right – The organizing committee reserves the right to cancel any class or event, to divide any class, to alter advertised time or refuse any entry with or without stating the reason.

Approved AS/NZ 3838, EN1384, ASTMF1163 riding helmets (spot checks of helmets will occur during the day) boots and medical armbands MUST be worn in all phases as per PCAV rules (including parent/adult when riding in the child leads parent/adult section).

No stallions, rigs or dogs allowed.

Queries, protests, horse abuse and doping rules as per PCAV Handbook of Bylaws.

No refunds on unused tickets.

PCAV Lunging Policy applies

Riders may share horses but entrants must choose ONLY ONE RING to compete in.

No swapping between rings will be allowed.

No children on foot, in prams or in back packs etc. are permitted to be in the ring.

Protests must be lodged in writing and accompanied by a $30 fee on the day of the gymkhana

Ribbons awarded to 4th place in all rings except Topsy ring.

IMPORTANT: Every rider (or parent/guardian) entered in events must report to the clubrooms on arrival to complete a Public Liability Declaration Form and show PCAV card. You will not be permitted to enter the ring until you have done so. Non pony club members must also pay a day attendance fee of $10.00. Thank you. Participants do not need to pay $10/day or fill in the Day Participant Waiver (lower part of combined form) if they are a current member of:

- Pony Club Association of Victoria; - Equestrian Australia (EA);

- HRCAV; - An Inter State Pony Club;

- Arab Horse Society of Australia (AHSA); - Australian Endurance Riders Association (AERA); or

- Can provide proof that they are covered by Public Liability Policy with a minimum of $10,000,000.00
