The Series of HD2line LCD Broadcast Monitors are specifically designed for all applications in the area ofprofessional broadcasting. Suitable for a wide range of reference and mastering applications such as studio production, OB vans, master control, post production, high end editing, telecine and quality control.

All HD2line displays feature DVI-I, VGA and CVBS inputs as standard. A multi-format HD/SD-SDI input supports datarates up to 3GBit/s and is available as an option. The latest addition is a Fibre Optic Input module, available also as an option.

The SDI board automatically recognizes the format of the incoming signal and displays it accordingly or in line with the settings for that specific format. The HD-SDI input supports cable lengths of up to 80 m (with certified cables), and even the DVI input can handle high-resolution input signals with a cable length up to 20 metres.

HD2line – The future of HDAll HD2line displays accept 1920 x 1080 HD as input resolution. The majority of the displays even have native HD resolution and fully support 50Hz and 60Hz video input signals. Of course you can also display signals with other resolutions. There is a scaling function, that allows scaling in a specific aspect ratio if required, as well as a 1:1 pixel-to-pixel mapping function.

HD2line – Perfect Colour AccuracyTrue-colour reproduction is essential for any broadcast application. The ultimate colourspace adjustment guarantees repeatable and precise colour reproduction compliant to EBU, SMPTE and ITU .709 standards. By using the built-in remote control interface, a precise spectroradiometer, e.g. Minolta`s CS 2000 / CS 200 and the HD2match software tool on your PC, an automatic matching process adjusts the display to your preset parameters, but of course you can also adjust the settings manually at any time.

Supported Formats

The Series of HD2line Displays is capable of displaying an exceptionally broad range of signal formats with an extremely high degree of colour accuracy. These include Composite Video PAL, NTSC and SECAM, Analogue Components RGB and Y-Cr-Cb. It also supports SD/HD-SDI signals up to 3GBit/s 10-Bit 50/60i & 24/25/30p/psf. The latter automatically recognizes the format of the incoming signal and displays it accordingly or in line with the settings for that specific format.

Perfect Colour AccuracyTrue colour reproduction is essential for broadcast applications. HD2match - the Colour Calibration and Remote Control Software is the ultimate tool for automatic colourspace adjustment and guarantees repeatable and precise colour reproduction compliant to EBU, SMPTE and ITU .709 Standards

Centralised Monitorwall ControlBuilt into DCS (Display Control Suite) is also a Centralised Monitorwall Control. Intuitive and user friendly software is provided for realtime or offline monitor wall configuration. The remote control software gives acces to all parameters on individual monitors as well as pre-defined groups of monitors in a larger system or OB van. A complex monitor wall can easily be created by dragging and dropping monitors into your layout. DCS gives a perfect overview of the settings of each monitor.

External ControlHD2line Broadcast LCD monitors integrate easily with existing Tally systems and controllers. Dynamic and Static IMD / Tally support is provided via Ethernet network or up to 6 GPI contact closures. GPIs are individually configurable.

Colourspace Gamma Calibration

Luminance UniformityOptical characteristics are determined after the unit has been ON and stable for a minimum of 45 min. in a dark enviroment at 25 degrees Celsius. The values specified, are at a distance of 80 cm from the LCD´s surface and at a viewing angle – horizontal and vertical – of 0 degrees.

Definition of Contrast Ratio:Contrast Ratio is calculated as follows:

Brightness on 100% white stateContrast Ratio (CR) = --------------------------------------------- Brightness on 0% black state

Colourspace Gamma Calibration

Response TimeResponse Time is defined as the following figure and is measured with a special Videosequence (1frame 100% White, 5 Frames 0% Black). Response time is the time required for the display to transition from 90% White to 10% Black = TR(Rise time) and from 10% Black to 90% White = TD (Decay time)

High Quality Factory Measurement Procedure

HD2line Broadcast Displays are designed for professionals. To ensure the high quality standard, each display undergoes an intensive quality control process before delivery. For specifying and assessing the performance it is necessary to measure the

following parameters:

Viewing AngleViewing Angle is the angle at which the contrast ratio is greater than 10:1 or 5:1. The angles are determined for the horizontal or X axis and the vertical or Y axis with respect to the Z axis (normally the LCD surface)

LatencyLatency is defined as the total processing time in comparison with a conventional CRT Grade 1 Monitor using 2 ultra highspeed Photodiodes (UPD-300SP – Risetime less 300ps Wavelength range 320-1100nm). Latency is measured with a special Videosequence (1frame 100% White, 5 Frames 0% Black).
