AP United States and Comparative Government and Politics Schedule of Activities Day One: We will focus on how to develop a successful AP program and review the AP Comparative Government and Politics course curriculum. Lesson plans will focus on key vocabulary and how to teach difficult terminology in ways students can understand. Day Two: Lessons will address the presidential system Mexico, as well as election systems and political parties. We will also examine the parliamentary system in the United Kingdom. We will begin practice scoring short answer concept questions. Participants will have the opportunity to examine various textbooks. Day Three: We will examine the increasingly authoritarian state of Russia. We will compare the dual rule systems of China and Iran. In addition, we will practice scoring longer free response questions. Day Four: Lessons will focus on the ever-changing landscape of Nigerian politics. We’ll wrap up with strategies to prepare students for multiple-choice questions.

Schedule of Activities

Day One: We will focus on how to develop a successful AP program and review the

AP Comparative Government and Politics course curriculum. Lesson
