Appenze l l Ca rd .Adults and children aged 6 and over who spend three nights or more in a hotel, mountain guest house, holiday apartment or B&B will receive the Appenzell Card free of charge from many establishments.The card entitles the holder to all the benefits listed on the reverse. Ask about the Appen-zell Card (Appenzeller Ferienkarte) when you make your reservation.

This is what you need to know• The Appenzell Card is only valid if accompanied by valid personal ID/passport.

The card and personal ID must be shown at the counter or to the attendant before use.• The Card is available to full-paying guests staying 3 nights or more.• If the guest leaves early (fewer than 3 nights), the owner of the accommodation has the

right to charge the full price per night of at least CHF 22.00 per night per card.• The card cannot be purchased.• Your host is not allowed to add a charge for the Appenzell Card to your bill. It is included

in the cost of the accommodation.• The card is valid for a maximum of 7 days.• Guests staying more than 7 days will receive a new Appenzell Card free of charge from

their hotel.• Participants are responsible for their own insurance.• Please observe and comply with the opening times of the various services and activities.

• Not all benefits are always available. Lack of availability shall not give rise to any entitlement to compensation.

• The card entitles the holder to 2nd class train and PostAuto travel. The card cannot be used in conjunction with other concessions (e.g. junior/senior tickets).

• Although the Publi-Car is part of the OSTWIND Transport Association, a supplement of CHF 5.00 per person per journey is payable for all travel.

• The holder shall not be entitled to any reimbursements for previously purchased travel tickets nor for non-use of cable cars as a result of operational shutdowns.

• The Appenzell Card cannot be used for transporting skiers on cableways.• The Appenzell Card cannot be used for special non-scheduled trips on cableways or trains.• Use of the tennis court applies for 1 person, not for 1 court. Playing partners must also

present their Appenzell Card or pay their own share of the court fees (excludes racket hire). Telephone reservation is required (+41 (0)71 788 30 77).

• The bobsled run is valid for 1 sled.• The number of available bicycles is limited and holders of the Appenzell Card cannot be

guaranteed access to a rental cycle. It is therefore advisable to reserve cycles in advance. • The rental cycles can be transported on public transport at the normal terms and conditions

(i.e. not free of charge).• Pre-registration is essential for yoga lessons as the number of places is limited. There is no

guaranteed right to participation in the lesson.• Sleds can be hired free of charge from Appenzell rail station (deposit: CHF 50.00).

Reservations are possible subject to availability.• Cross-country skis and poles can be obtained in Wachshöttli in Gonten. Cross-country ski

equipment hire includes the charge for use of the ski trail. • Ice skates are available subject to availability. The rental station is located in the Natural

Ice Rink (Natureisbahn) in Weissbad.• In the case of children’s ski lessons, these are group lessons for children up to the age of 12.
