Automated Steering
• Set the steering wheel angle based on picture of road
• Learning algorithm• Can edge detection simplify the incoming
image?
Bumper to Bumper Stop and Go Driving
• Automated driver latches on to the back of the car directly in front of it
• Use centerline and width of vehicle outline to estimate distance
• Edge detection to find the leading car’s location?
Yet to be accomplished
• Apply edge detection algorithm• Decide if edge detection is a viable option
to distinguish between the road and surrounding areas– All types of different conditions
• Decide if edge detection can find the outline of a car from the rear– All types of vehicles
